Bought the box of 12 traps. Have easily set 5. All 5 have already gone off with NOTHING caught but bait cleaned. Not strong enough to hold or even injure rats. Every since one has gotten stuck but escaped. Not worth the frustration.

Have tons of chipmunks, mice and moles destroying wiring in vehicles, only issue is they only last about 5 months outside before the wood starts to separate. Small price to pay, they work very well with baiting, just set them against house and the walk right into them

These traps are very strong witch is good but they don't strike strait quality control is not this company's thing each one has to be checked and can be fixed to work proper with a little attention but the price shows that . They do work when THEY ARE GONE OVER .

I've used a number of different styles and sizes of traps both wooden and plastic, but I have to say these are the easiest to set and they are 100% lethal. If a rodent gets into one these, they're dead! I've seen many other traps that didn't kill the rodent and in many cases they were able to work their way out of the trap and escape. These are also made of a better grade of wood than the brand V traps. With those, the staples often pull out and the traps is useless. The staples seem to stay in this much better. The trigger in these is also much simpler than the brand V traps and these don't require fiddling with the trigger to make them work correctly. The springs in these also seem to be more powerful than that used in the brand V traps and they kill more reliably.

If you were able to set them and actually lay them down without setting it off would be great! The ones we were actually able to use were great and did the job! Basically we didn't save any money buying bulk due to a third of them not working!

These Traps are useless! I was able to bend a few of them to kind of set but then they don't actually set off properly. The way they come, the latch won't stay at all... on any of them, it is obviously a design flaw if all 12 do the same thing.Big regret buying these

I put three out. The next day two rats were in the traps. In less than 24 hours, with peanut butter. The third popped probably from... Work Great 👍

so like most rat traps these are VERY snappy and touchy so keep fingers clear for sure. they DEFINITELY serve their purpose and are sensitive enough to even trigger from mice... those critters are WAY too small for these to catch tho so if like my place you have both varmints... get both types. you also get a box full of these so the value is pretty fantastic when you only need to set 1 or 2 at a time

The new design is not good. Trying to set this trap to sensitive takes every bit of 15 minutes. I set several traps and several did not kill the rat. They just politely took the bait that I even had tied onto the plate with string. Come back to find string and no bait at all with the trap being set to sensitive. The old trap had the lever on the side of the plate. Now the lever of in the middle of the plate. Very bad design. I won't be buying more of these unless they change it back to the old style.

These rat traps work and are easy to set safely. However, within just a few days of use, the backing has peeled off one or two of them. (Granted, it's raining a bit so they got wet.) Additionally, within the first night, rats had chewed off the triangular piece meant to help hold the bait on several traps. Rats frequently steal bat without triggering the trap. So while they are easy to set, they might not be sensitive enough to always catch sneaky rats.---UPDATE: After using them about a year, they have caught many rats, but are warped and nearly worthless. The cheaply made traps lost layer after layer of particle board, and are mostly too thin now to work. On the other hand, I have one Victor trap that is solid wood and works as well now as when I bought it 3 years ago.
