Probably the biggest bag I’ve ever had that just connects to my mountain bike seat without the need for a rear rack. I expected it to be a good sized when I ordered it. But I was honestly surprised at how big it actually was. Should easily hold everything I needed to when I’m out mountain biking, and then some. It was very easy to install. A good value for the money compared to other bags this size that attach directly to your seat. Has a nice build quality that seems like it should be fairly waterproof. I haven’t submersed it or anything to test that out, but I haven’t had anything get wet on the short rides. I take either.

Most Kemimoto products that I've seen are good quality. This bag is no exception. I would say that you need to pack this bag and mount it a few times to get the hang of it. This bag definitely works best when it is fully packed. If you have it halfway packed, it definitely seems floppy. If you have it stuffed with gear it performs very well. Getting the mounting position on the saddle correct is pretty easy. The closure on this is akin to a roll top dry bag with clips to hold it close. It's not hard to figure out but you need a couple of folds for it to hold tight. You can definitely bikepack using this bag if you are going from hotel to hotel rather than tent camping. That's the limit of this bag if you ask me. If you are riding a loaded touring setup this can also work as an additional bag above your panniers - if you have room.I tested this out over a couple of days. Today I took it for a little over 50 mile gravel ride, and the bag was fine. It didn't flop around terribly, but I did have to put a lot of effort into cleaning the gravel dust off the bag afterwards. It kind of serves as a rear fender so it gets quite dirty. The best way to clean it is with a water hose or put it in the shower. All in all, this bag gets the job done and it seems like a good value.

If you don't have a rack, or just don't want the weight of one, a seat bag is a nice way to carry a few items. It can also be used in conjunction with other bags for a touring setup. And whether you are on the open road, or doing errands around town, it's great to have a bag that's water-proof.I'm using mine on my city e-bike, along with a Kemimoto trunk bag (see photos). I've used several Kemimoto bags, and this one has their usual intelligent design and good quality construction. The bag attaches to the seat post via Velcro straps and buckles. Adjustable length straps with quick release buckles fasten it to the rails of your saddle. This is very secure, but not as stable as a trunk bag attached to a rack; the seat bag can bounce side-to-side a bit if you have very much weight in it.For a seat bag, this one is quite large (see photos of it open and closed). There's a roll-top closure, with Velcro at the mouth of the bag. I like that it can carry large, bulky items, but still be rolled down into a compact package when empty. The lower part of the bag is decently rigid, so loading and rolling the top down is easy.On the outside of the bag, there's a shock cord for tying down a windbreaker, etc. There's also a reflective strip at the rear with straps for attaching taillights. If you have a rear rack, a trunk bag is more secure than any seat bag, and can carry more. But this is a well-executed seat bag, and it's a good option if you don't have a rack, or as an addition to your other bags. It's a very good value.

____ The Bad: _____* Where this falls down and loses 2 full stars is an embarrassing failure of quality control that rendered my bag all-but useless right out of the box. Upon opening, one of the two plastic loops for securing the bag straps to the seat post was on a strap that had torn all the way lose from the bag. See photos. This means that this cannot be secured to the bike in a balanced way. And if one of the straps had failed even before installation, I am in no way going to trust the other strap to hold double the load out on potholed roads and gravel trails. Maybe this can be fixed with some serious backstitching, I'll see. The rest of this review assumes that I just got unlucky with a bad unit and this is not a common failure.* I'm not fond of these sorts of bags being black inside of black. Lighter colored exteriors add to visibility in traffic, and lighter colored interiors make it easier to find things inside the bag when unpacking.____ The Good: ____* Includes reflective elements and a taillight hanger* Roll Top Closure allows for adjustment of size of bags like this* Includes an elastic cord for carrying a jacket or lock or flip flops atop bag.* Was waterproof in a brief shower spray test____ Comparable options: ______* Among my similar alternatives, this is equivalent to, but priced a bit higher than my Rhinowalk 13 liter tail bag. This has more solid and supportive structure and has a better way to tie up lose straps, while the Rhinowalk has a bit more width for easier access and has wider less failure prone straps around the seatpost. This is notably cheaper than the Roswheel Attack and Rockbros tailbags I have used in the past without being all that much different in overall features

Good value for the price.
