The case isn’t strong enough to resist splitting when turning the key. Causes it to just fall into pieces which you then get to re-assemble.

Works for my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire. Swapping the key and board over from the old was a pain, but no because of this case. The factory case was more difficult to take apart than this one. Remember to twist the key spring before putting it all back together so the key will pop out correctly after reassembly. I am ordering a second for my spare.

I purchased this casing to replace my original one because the red panic button on my remote had worn out and didnt work anymore.Unfortunately, the buttons on this were poor quality. The red button falls right out, and when pressing it, it is not long enough to make contact with the button on the circuit board.Returning this.

$500 from Mercedes or $13 on Amazon. Not a hard choice. As was mentioned by another don’t forget the rfid chip under the red plastic. This case works like a charm and worth every penny.

This case has a slightly different design than the original (mine is 1996 MBZ E320). I am trying to fit the original key and remote circuit board in this case. It almost destroyed my remote infrared bulb. The slot is too shallow right at the infrared bulb. If you press hard trying to close the case, it may cut the infrared bulb out of the circuit board. I was lucky. When the covers do not snap together easily, I chose to reopen and take a look. The bulb is bent. If I pressed harder trying to close the cover, I may have destroyed the remote.Another negative, when requesting return, the shipping is NOT free. I have to pay shipping to get a refund.
