I watched several YouTube videos on the subject. There is a little plastic piece that also needs to be carefully removed. The inside replacement piece is tucked around it then is snapped into place. Then the rubber replacement will lie flat. It is quite stiff to push after installation. Definitely work replacing yourself for about $10 rather than being charges over $300 at the dealership

So, this is pretty great, however they need to supply something to stick it on the fob with. The rubber pad kept falling off. A good thing it was usually in my pocket. The reason it falls off is there are only three hole plugs. When you take the original pad off the key fob there are eight smaller holes and plugs, four on each side of the large holes. The rubber pad needs thes hole plugs in order for the pad to stay on or glue it down. I used krazy glue. This isn't ideal as you don't want to get liquid into to controls. Until they fix that issue I don't recommend purchasing this particular style of replacement pad. One might be better off replacing the fob outer casing.

Worked great. Make sure your remote works first by depressing the buttons with a pen or the screwdriver. I then ripped off the old rubber using the screwdriver and took out the Crome piece. Then carefully popped out the plastic center piece with the screwdriver and cleaned it up. There are six pins holding it in. Pry at the pin location. I did crack one but once it was together you couldn’t tell. The new rubber wrapped around the edges of the center plastic piece. I put the Crome back in and then popped the plastic and new rubber back in. Like new. I did sand or lightly file the pins on the plastic piece so it popped in easier.

Spare key fob rubber buttons were full of holes, therefore the key pad was not usable. Replaced with new rubber button pad and it now looks like brand new and works as intended. Thank you for the simple replacement part that saves on having to replace the fob itself.
