never had a banjolele, i have two standard ukes so i found this to be a needed change of pace.these are a little louder than trad ukes, and some songs sound better on it but others sound better with trad ukes. i love playing old timey favorites like she's coming round the mountain, ain't she sweet, Campton races and so on, cause they sound great on the banjolele. mine is a tenor.

Great instrument. Good weight and construction, and holds tune even fresh out the box. The kit comes with extra strings, picks, a tuner, and a fun little strap, and case. I took the back off to get a slightly different sound twangier sound than by default.I've always loved the bluegrass and old timey sound of traditional Irish music too, and I'm not getting any younger, so I've been working on learning ukulele and 5 string banjo. Definitely recommend for beginners looking for a different sound too.I'm happy to say that this is the first instrument I can now play a full song on without tabs or references - People are Strange by the Doors.

I’m not a uke or banjo player. I play guitar in Irish sessions and someone brought one to the session. It was loud enough to hear over the rest and it looked cool. My instrument came in good condition without a case or gig bag. I didn’t get the cool package with all that. I tuned up and started playing. It’s got a consistent tone with a unique voice. I don’t think there’s much usable neck beyond the third or fourth fret. Not much sound anyway but it seems most uke players are always using first position chords. That being said, I’m satisfied with the instrument but sorry I missed buying the package with the case, tuner and whatever else they included.

I’m a multi-instrumentalist and wanted to give the banjolele a try. Researched beginner banjoleles for a long while and decided on the Kmise to start. I waited until I found one at a discount (Amazon warehouse had one that was brand new but had damaged packaging). Great deal! Setting up the floating bridge was a snap with the included plastic guide. I’m really enjoying learning on this little banjo uke. I docked one star because wish the head was a Remo head - rather than synthetic. Despite that - it’s a great little, fun, starter instrument.

This banjolele is pretty, and it’s loud. Unfortunately, it doesn’t stay in tune very well. The strings it comes with are pretty crappy, so I would recommend changing them. While the strings are being broken in it can cause them to go out of tune more often, but I think it has a lot to do with the quality of the tuning pegs. They seem to be plastic. It’s a fun instrument and for its price it’s not a bad buy! Hopefully once I’ve broken it in a bit it will hold its tune a bit better!

I was playing it, new strings so i tuned them up and hit a few chords and then the neck came apart from the body. I tried to put it back together but it didnt work too well. one star maybe a bit generous

It is my first uke/banjo of any sort so I don't have much to compare it to. It is a little on the heavy side, but I think that's to be expected from a banjo uke. I really like the sound, it was easy to set up and get started. I've had it for a week now and tune/play it once a day, strings are very close to holding their tune now. Overall I love it, definitely would buy again.

Absolutely no instructions on how to set the bridge. It's important to get it set properly for the correct intonation. Ended up changing the strings and taking it to music shop to have the bridge set. Would have sent it back if I had not gotten rid of the packaging.

Well made, very attractive instrument. Like the size, weight, look, and materials. Construction feels solid. I recommend that the company should include at least some minimal amount of reference or instructions about the bridge in the future. I myself was able to set up the bridge and tunee it in a few minutes because I possess sufficient knowledge and experience but that might not apply to others.

We purchased this banjolele for our son. It arrived quickly in great shape. It is fine quality, tuned easily and sounds great!

I would have been satisfied spending three times the cost of this well-made and great-sounding banjo uke. It looks good, it feels good in my hands, and it's loud! It takes several weeks of frequent touch-ups to get it to the point where it holds tune. It comes with the bridge un-installed, and some folks have been unhappy about that--because they haven't read the review that specifies just where to place the bridge (just as far again down the body of the uke as the 12th fret is from the nut). I had no trouble with that. Mine came with the bridge in two pieces (busted), but these folks sent me a whole replacement uke within days of my asking for a new bridge. I'm very happy with this instrument.

For starters, this banjolele is a great choice and I found it fitted well in trad music. Prompt shipping and good communication made me a happy buyer.

Got this banjo uke a couple of months ago and like it better all the time. It’s got good weight, beautiful finish and looks first class all the way. The little fret markers on mine are tiny skulls and crossbones in abalone! It’s absolutely adorable. This is a quality object and you won’t be sorry. The bridge comes from the factory in a loose state as it is supposed to and was simple to install. The person who glued it on (in a previous review) was ill advised to do so. It is held on with pressure from the strings. It really should have instructions for the neophyte who can’t be bothered to google it, lol.I couldn’t be more pleased with it. Buy one if you are tempted. You won’t do better for the price. I bought a case separately from the same company and it is fine for travelling in a car but I would not check it on a plane!! Keeps it dustfree and scuff free.
