I grabbed this Libman Brass Pot Brush to tackle some rust buildup on the metal interior of my wood fireplace, and it did a solid job scrubbing it away. The brass bristles are stiff and aggressive—perfect for grinding down the flaky, orange rust spots that had accumulated over last winter. I’d say it took about 15 minutes of elbow grease to clean a roughly 2x2-foot section, and the rust was noticeably reduced, leaving the metal looking fresher, if not pristine. The brush’s design helped a lot. The 2x2-inch scrubbing surface is compact enough to get into tight corners near the firebox edges, and the ergonomic rubber grip stayed comfy in my hand, even with wet gloves on (it’s a fireplace, so I splashed some water to keep dust down). The scraper edge came in clutch for scraping off thicker rust patches before brushing—saved me from wearing out the bristles too fast. It’s marketed for pots and pans, but it handled this off-label fireplace job like a champ. That said, it’s not flawless. The brass bristles shed a tiny bit after heavy use—nothing major, just a few strays I swept up. Also, it’s not a miracle worker; stubborn, deep rust needed multiple passes and some patience. Compared to a steel wire brush I’ve used, this one’s gentler on the metal (no gouges), though it’s less brutal on really thick corrosion. For scrubbing rust off a fireplace or similar metal surfaces, it’s a handy tool—tough, well-made, and versatile. I’d give it 4 stars: great for the task, but shedding and moderate power keep it shy of perfect. Worth it if you need a solid scrubber!

Brass bristles are just the right choice for cleaning stains on pots with dishwasher liquid soap. The stains come off easily

The Best steal cleaning brush out there. We use these for our business to clean the copper pot we cook our product in and for cleaning our cast iron pans and grill. Works great! Like no other!!!!

I bought a several months ago and I wanted a brush that could get into the crevices of the racks. First I tried the and it's fine for the bottom pan but it wasn't stiff enough to clean the racks, the bristles just splayed out instead of staying stiff and getting into the little areas where the where the metal grids come together. Then I remembered long ago that Dad used a brass brush when he'd clean the outside BBQ's racks, so I thought I give this brush a try. This works beautifully and does exactly what I wanted. I like that it even got my old clean that I use to bake bacon in the oven on. It's even cleaned some old baked on stuff on my (I was very careful since even a will scratch them).I love the fact that they've used non-slip material on the handle. Even when my hands are soapy, I can firmly hold this.About the only thing I would change on this is to have the mounting hole going from front to back, instead of side to side. That way I could hang it on my kitchen sink backsplash without the bristles touching it.
