To me, this is really a 4.5 star product but I decided to round up because it does what it says and I have no real complaints. It accepts the standard Makita 18V batteries and has a three LED battery indicator. It is reasonably well-balanced despite its extended length. The power switch and lock work fine although the lock may be a little awkward for left handers.I understand the need for the chuck and appreciate the precision jaws but think the key should be at least somewhat integrated into the handle so that it is not lost. I would prefer a locking button like Dremel uses. The brushless motor is an excellent feature and undoubtedly helps with the strong torque.The tool includes the chuck key, a few abrasive burrs, and a pair of gloves. The key is important, not sure if it is the same as Foredom, but looks similar. The included burrs are OK, but probably not much use other than demonstrating the tool. I did not use the gloves yet. I did try some tungsten carbide burrs and those really worked well with the tool. The power of the tool is evident. There is a button that selects the speed from four presets. I would have preferred a progressive switch or additional settings but it works. For small light jobs, I will continue to use my cordless Dremel, but for heavier jobs, this is my pick.

This is a tool only. You will need to supply your own Makita 18 volt battery and charger. This tool is fairly large for what it is. The torque is pretty good. The balance takes a little getting used to because the tool is pretty long. Depending what size (Ah) battery you install, the weight and balance of the tool may be significantly affected.
