This does work, but the cable connection is weak & you need to wiggle the USB connector and monitor your device to make sure it's actually charging. I don't think I'll be able to use this as planned for my backpack trip - where I wanted to just strap the panel to the back of my back-pack - the cables will get jostled around too much and I don't think the connection would be stable enough for charging. Seems to work fine if everything is left very still and stationary and is in direct sunlight.

I think lixada did great with this design. The portability is great, and it charges my phone at a decent speed, even when it's cloudy. Great survival/camping item.

It's completely useless... after placing the panel in sunlight for 4 hrs. it didn't charge my mobile...no sign of charging... I tried with others mobile also but same result...no charge...!!Filed for (wanted to exchange but no such option for it) return but even after 7 days...no response from its seller. In status, it's saying only that seller has approved the return request..!!My strong recommendation: DON'T BUY IT

These are like the panels that you get in the foldable packable kits that have all the fancy do dad's, but without the frills. It charges my phone at half the rate as charging directly from the wall receptacle and that is through a double pane of window glass at a bit of an inconvenient angle. I checked the built-in phone meter charging rate The panel itself is quite durable, however the little plug in thing looks like it could come off with usage so I tapped it with Gorilla tape to reinforce it.I previously bought a 24W folding setup but it takes too much space for lite-duty stuff. These are very convenient and even charge my AA Batteries so I can put this on a backpack all day and charge stuff. You could power all kinds of stuff remotely like lights, sensors, animal cameras.Good deal, I bought one then ordered a second one along with two small battery chargers and some batteries and now I have two great emergency charging kits that are lighter and take less room that before.I'm a prepper and this work great. I was unsure if I could plug a USB battery charger directly into this but it works well.

For the price & performance, this unit will be hard to beat. Perhaps their 10W unit would be a better choice for faster charging / smart phone charging. Will be using this with a USB Rechargeable 200 lumen closet light in a shed. Even under direct cloudless sunlight (roughly 11AM - 2PM) charging a cell phone, the solar panel did not get warm. It appears to be fully sealed against rain except for the USB port. I used a 100% silicone sealant to permanently attach a USB cable to eliminate any possible water intrusion. For my test charge, there was 100% cloud cover & it was raining, but still managed to charge two smaller closet lights in about 5 - 5.5 hours each. I will be picking up 1 more of these & probably 1 of the 10W version as well.
