The universal joint or also called as u-joint at the end of the steering shaft connects to the steering gearbox which has another u-joint that connects to the steering wheel allows for the angles between them to be supported resulting to your vehicle wheels smooth and easy turning.

It fits as it should but the steering wheel is off center.Off to get an alignment but for the money, this shaft is worth it.

Column seems fine, so far, but could not get to the required torque of 22-foot pounds before the bolts snapped. Had a really hard time removing the remaining part that was left in the column as you can't remove it to do it right on a bench.

Installed on my 2008 Tacoma. It is built quite well and matches the oem spec. Getting the old one out was a bit difficult but putting the new one in wasn’t as bad. I’d recommend tying off your steering well before starting. If the steering wheel spins while the shaft is out, you’ll have a problem on your hands.

Extremely unsatisfied. Trucks steering wheel was dead straight when I ordered the part. Replaced the shaft due to a seizing u joint causing a hard spot, now that I’ve changed it and took it for a ride the steering wheel is out to 1-2 o’clock. Like I said this was dead straight before, their castings are obviously off. Extremely unsatisfied, and now stuck either installing to old bad part to try and return this, or eat the cost of ordering a better one and hoping they’ll return this one.

I noticed my steering was tight and stiff so I changed out this part and it worked wonders. I give it a 3 out of 5 for easy to install simply because I didn’t know what I was doing going into it, but any mechanic could do it easily. This part really saved my truck!
