The original had the rubber cover fail, but it still worked for about a year. Then it completely fell apart, so I ordered this one.Quick note for those doing the repair themselves. There are a couple of official videos on YouTube that show the official process to change out this switch. It is VERY complicated, and you end up disassembling most of your rear hatch/door. However, there are other videos that show a simple shortcut, and you can have it swapped out in 15 minutes with a small screwdriver and a pair of pliers. Take my word, this is the way to go!Two thumbs up from me!

Quick fix for the damn dry rot. Hopefully this lasts longer. The damn high altitude (6,800 ft) absolutely eats rubber and plastic.

This was installed on a 2007 Chevy Suburban. This part is simple to install, but not terribly easy. It fits well, although it is not made exactly like the factory part. The factory part has a cover over it, and that cover came off soon before the button failed. This one seems tight and sturdy. I have only had it for about four months, and it has worked well, but I can't yet speak to it's durability or longevity.
