I ended up in an emergency situation and this product I feel helped save my life. I had to sleep outside and I was freezing. Granted it was only about 60 F outside, but 60 all night long in open air in the dark forest drafts feels colder than 60 F in the sun or indoors. This sleeping bag warmed me up within seconds of sliding into it. I was only wearing sandals, shorts, and a T-shirt and this mylar sleeping bag took the chill out of my ice cold feeling hands and feet.The poncho and sleeping bag are lined with body heat reflecting silver mylar. (Like a birthday balloon)The color green or orange you choose when ordering is on the outside.There are black tape reinforced areas and double edged seams. This product is made thoughtfully and will withstand multiple uses if used consciously and stored carefully.The bag does NOT breathe. So it is waterproof in rain or snow, but it is also going to get wet with your sweat on the inside. So I turned it inside out in the morning, as in my photo, and let both sides dry.Durable enough to be turned inside out to dry, then turned right side out again, folded and rolled and stored.Great durable reflective zipper pouch included *that actually fits all the products once opened* That is an amazing feature. Well designed.The sleeping bag is big enough for a six foot person and maybe even up to 250 pounds. It is wide and long. It was easy for me to turn over or move my legs around inside the bag without it ripping. You also get a loud emergency whistle and lanyard.At about 13 dollars at the time of my order for all this, I feel it is a super bargain. When you need it, usually it's not predicted so that's why it's an emergency and it's good to already have it on hand like i did. Highly recommend. Also makes a great gift for hunters, campers, boy and girl scouts and leaders, fishing, hiking, flood zone areas, disaster area care packages, and a thoughtful useful gift for a homeless person.

This 2 piece emergency sleeping bag with hood, along with an emergency rain poncho comes together in this bundle from brand MATTISAM and is, in many ways, an absolute essential set to have in every emergency carry bag, mostly because of such inexorable value in case you are unable to carry your larger gear with you, but still want to remain protected.The nature of emergency sleeping bags are by design a crucial component of your self-protection plan. The waterproof, thermal Mylar foil is basically what they use in space, and it allows you to retain your body heat, which could potentially be the difference between life or death if caught in a snowstorm... or for another example, if you ever fall through the ice and need to immediately bring up your body temperature.There are so many practical applications for both the sleeping bag and for the poncho which also has a hoodie, and each item should absolutely be a part of every emergency bag, and a set like this should even be included in first aid kits in my opinion.When I am planning out my camping trips or even travel plans abroad, I always make sure to keep a pack like this in my EDC bag. You could be stranded somewhere with no other means of shelter, and this might keep you warm and protected when you have absolutely no where else to go, or sleep, but the ground you are standing on.These are durable enough for the emergency provision they offer. I ordered mine in an army green colour, but they also come in a higher visibility bright orange colour. Whatever the case, they provide warmth and, if you have more than one in your bug out bag, potentially a small shelter, as well.In my opinion, don't go into the woods without one, no matter if it is on a camping trip, or even the urban jungle. There is also bonus whistle included that is very decent, and another essential. 5 stars.

The MATTISAM Emergency Sleeping Bag with Hood & Emergency Rain Poncho are a compact set that each come in their own little ziplock bag. There is a larger bag to put them into, particularly good after having used them and you’re not up to the challenge of getting them back into those smaller bags.The really are quite a lot more silent than typical mylar items. They feel like good quality and not flimsy, yet they are still super light.I can’t attest to how effective this type of gear is as I’ve never had to test them in the cold but I understand how they would help keep in body heat and they certainly will help keep you dry.It’s a nice set, includes an emergency whistle, good quality and compact. I definitely recommend them.

It's sort of difficult to review these as they aren't meant for everyday use. The materials feel like they will absolutely work for their intended purpose in an emergency situation. They are packaged well and pack down super small. They are very lightweight but don't feel flimsy, if that makes any sense. I am happy to have these and I will grab a few more for my other pack setups. You never know when you'll need them and they are very much worth having a few on hand. Overall, it's two thumbs up for me and I would definitely recommend them from my initial inspection.
