Absolute garbage, surprisingly the cutting blade held up very well, the locking pin to prevent the blade from spinning failed instantly on the no.3 and no.4 cutters. The main problem is that the body of the cutter (no.3) isn't as strong as the blade and elongated badly clamping down on the blade and almost locking it in place. I doubt they would have any effect on a hardened nut.

These no name nut splitters from China are pretty good. You get four sizes for the money each obviously able to take a variety of sized nuts within a range. The tools themselves feel robust enough but there is a lot of play in the thread and the chuck/ blade. The screw thread feels gritty to turn which could spell trouble in the long run.But for the amateur these will be fine for those emergency moments when you can’t shift that nut.

This is one of those tools/sets that 90% of the time (unless you're a professional) is going to be sat in a tool box/on a shelf. But when you come across a rusted or stuck nut you'll be glad to have them, no more messing around with a grinder or hack saw, pop one of these on and get cracking.Well made, easy to use, cheap and cheerful solid storage box, not the cheapest thing in the world but still represents good value compared to name brands. Happy to have this in my tool collection.Only used in a few scenarios so far, no signs of degradation, has saved marring up the bolts using other methods too so i can see how over time the tool pays for itself by reducing the collateral damage of removing with other methods. If you can justify the initial price and have a few scenarios like this a year, I personally think its worth it.
