Two sided file. Which is which? As you look at it, the first number is the top file. Works great. Improved the action on my cheapo knockoff strat greatly but just be careful not to file too deep. Easy does it.

Not as advertised, not suitable for the job,(guitar nut filing),very poor quality and not much good for most other filing jobs that a good needle file set would do. Do not buy . Waste of your money!

These files were pretty much the worst I've ever seen. Mislabelled,. crooked, coarse and generally badly made. They might be useful for something but not for nut slotting. Fail.

They look just like the picture. But it says for electric guitar on amazon and gives the measurements that are not correct. Mine came in a package that said Base guitar but with the same size labels as the image. The file is in a V shape so even the smallest file cuts a large slot due to the V. I may have to buy a new nut to replace the one I just baught and I only used the smallest file. Also the Blue file labeled0.036/0.050 was almost identical on the edge in size to the Orange one labeled 0.010/0.020. The Red one labeled 0.013/0.028 had edges that I would not use on a guitar nut. It would create way too big of a slot. These are definately not worth the money and I would not use them again on an electric guitar. I returned them for a refund to cover the cost of my new graphtech nut.

I used these to file notches in the saddles of my new Gotoh Tune-o-matic bridge. They worked good, except the high E string saddle is too wide and sounds like a citar when plucked open. Using the smallest (0.10) file is wider than claimed. Hopefully I can fix it with a proper 0.10 file from stewmac. Couldn't justify $150+ for the full stewmac set, but just remember you get what you pay for. Not sure I would trust these to file a nut though. Maybe the E, A and D strings only. For clarification, I installed Ernie Ball 10-46 strings

These files are not very good, especially when compared to a "proper" set of files from StewMac, etc. However, at less than a third of the StewMac price, they may be a good option for you if you are only going to use the a couple times and don't mind taking your time with it.That's why I bought them. I needed nut/saddle files for one project and didn't want to pay the high price for a good set that I would rarely use.Two of my files were slightly bent or bowed, they all had irregular or poorly stamped teeth in spots, and my set must have had the handles put on backwards, because the larger side was clearly on the right for all three (which is opposite what the listing shows).Despite all of that, I was able to cleanly cut good slots in my new resonator saddles by taking my time and testing on scrap wood first to find good sections of each file to use.

No issue with these files, they work well and the price is right. I am a newbie (or a "Noob" as Rick Beato says!) regarding the process of filing guitar nut slots, but these files worked well with a bone nut for a Strat copy that I have. The attached photos (provided by the manufacturer) provide information on the sides of the files relative to the handles. The manufacturer was a pleasure to work with and provided very good (if not excellent) customer service via email communications. High marks for their customer service.
