The Milescraft trim45 trim carpentry aid is the handiest tool in the toolbox When it comes to installing door and window casement trim, as well as decorative trim work projects such as fireplaces or bookshelves. Unique to the Trim45 is an adjustable reveal setting allowing it to be used on any project in any home or at any job site adding versatility and usability. Stick pins, tape measure slots, and rare earth magnets make accurate installation of even the largest windows a one person job. Other uses include a built in miter gauge for marking 45 degree angles, a built in square for marking 90 degree angles or setting miter blades, and tape measure slots allow marking straight lines at the depth of the set reveal.

If you regularly do trim with mitered corners, this tool will save you a lot of time and repeat, cuts, and calculations. No more asking someone to hold the dumb end. The reveal gauge makes this an an all around trim carpenters new best friend. The magnets to hold your tape are a thoughtful and useful addition. Wouldn’t want to do another house full of mitered trim without it.

I ended up not using this except for marking the reveal and it really isn't necessary for that. A combination square (even a cheap one) works just as well.Used as instructed it does what it says but it just isn't necessary.

is a good idea... helps a lot and makes more easy to work alone doing trim... not difficult to use and what I like more is that you can make a more consistent job..I think needs a little bit more improvement... but is good enough... if you are going to install trim and wants to make a good job is a good idea to have one of those..

I have only found this tool to be useful when measuring my cuts on the miter saw, it clamps to your trim and you can fairly accurately measure your cuts.When using on the actual opening, I found that nailing it in place will not always work accurately, and you will not get a good measurement. Also the edge marking is not very precise and awkward to do.For $15 its an ok tool, but nothing to write home about.

Clever carpentry aid that makes measuring and cutting trim all that much easier. I could have saved a lot of rework if I had found this product earlier. .

I was doubtful this tool would be practical or of any use but after trimming out a few rooms I now find it indispensable. This tool saves time and money as a it works like a third hand and allows you to get accurate measurements without tying up a second person to hold your tape measure. You can also get accurate miters using the marking gauge portion and it allows you to see if your board is located in the correct spot and is the correct length before nailing.With an adjustable fence for the reveal it's simple and useful.
