I’m new to forging/smelting and the crucible is a lot smaller than expected. It indicates 1kg in the description, but I thought that was the weight of the crucible, but that’s not the case.It measures approx. 64.8mm in diameter (head), 49.7mm diameter (body), is 124.8mm tall and the interior is 115.3mm deep x 37.8mm in diameter and weighs 241g.The crucible has a high quality smooth exterior finish with a slightly rough interior surface. It has a lip on top to allow the tongs to fit and hold securely. There’s even a small pouring cutout on the top edge.Overall, quality build and would work great in your forge/smelter.At the time of this review, the crucible was priced at $22.99 with an available 5% off coupon.
