Used this charger several times to maintain battery charge & health. Using it on my AGM battery was slightly different but showed improved health with a follow-up battery tester. For the AGM batt, I had to press mode once to select the AGM option (with leads connected - but power cord unplugged).I don't think the DFS / Desulfate step applies to AGM batteries.I was able to charge from the positive lead under hood, rather than going to the battery (in trunk).Here are the steps I follow:1. Connect leads to + & - battery power. Observe readouts.2. Change mode unless charging standard battery.3. Connect to power - plug it in. Observe readouts.4. Full appears when the charging stops - but wait for the next status "Off".5. OFF readout appears an hour or so after FULL. Unsure but seems complete after it says OFF.6. Unplug power plug - observe readouts for voltage level.7. Disconnect + & - leads - all done!

I purchased this 2 years ago, and I've used it on my lawn tractor battery 3 or 4 times and a couple of times on a car battery. I have only used Standard mode. It works great. I just used it to successfully charge my lawn tractor battery after it was accidentally left outside and not used over the frigid Alberta winter.My only complaints are the short plug-in cable (30 inches) and the short clip cables (22 inches).

Used it 3-4 times, then it just stopped working. Worked fabulous when it worked. Always kept in the garage brought a battery in and nothing.Still under warranty, no reply from the companyUpdate**. I did send an email to the company with my receipt of purchase attached, and they replaced the charger.. it arrived by courier today

This black model is the same as the red one, but was discounted $8 less than the $30 red one. (Guess people like red better).It charged two heavy duty deep cycle boat batteries (protects them from winter freezing). It advertises a 10 amp charge rate. It's definitely better/faster than similarly priced trickle chargers (which it does also). I charged one battery at 10amps and one at trickle. They both show a full indicator, but while the 10amp charger seems to completely turn off when full, the trickle charge stays on as a battery maintainer. It has a built in fan which runs automatically while it's charging. Unlike some similar chargers which advertise copper clamps this does not, and it' seems , with a magnet, that the clamps are not copper. They could be a lower grade stainless, but since they are fully insulated (a good thing for tight spots), it's hard to know exactly what they're made of. Unless it's being used in a marine environment, not sure it makes much difference, especially cause no part of a charger should be exposed to water. The clamps don't get hot at all, so there can't be any power drain during charging, whatever they are.The quality seems good, and more than adequate (other than for commercial use), as it does so many things, including a reconditioning (desulfering?) cycle, and is very easy to use.I would definitely recommend it, and will follow up with any issues, if they occur. Long term, who can say how good anything is in advance?

This charger is really nice to have, it seems like it works as intended, The current on the display and the actual current when it’s plugged into the battery seems off by 2 A, but still it charges pretty good, repair function does not work as magic, it all depends on the state of the battery you’re trying to revive, with many years of experience with batteries, the chance of revving, a bat is slim to non, but you always can try it and it might work for you, other than that there’s nothing really bad to say about this unit, price wise I believe it’s fair.

This car battery charger is a nice addition to the tools for my car. I like how the charger is designed: simple, easy to read, pocket-size. It has a decent cooling process and also a decent capability of charging fully the battery. Clamps that come with the package are of good quality with decent robustness to them. Steps to charge the battery are easy to follow. Overall a decent purchase.

Ich habe mir dieses Batterieerhaltungsladegerät vorwiegend für mein Motorrad bestellt, da ich jetzt nach dem Winter gemerkt hatte, dass meine Maschine durch die Standzeit und die kühlen Temperaturen doch etwas schwerlich in die Gänge kam. Um einen Totalausfall vorzubeugen ist so ein Batterieerhaltungsladegerät sehr gut geeignet. Natürlich kann man das Gerät aber auch am Auto, Transporter, usw. einsetzen.Es werden lediglich 750 mA an Ladestrom über das Ladegerät abgegeben, zum vollständigen aufladen einer leeren Batterie ist es daher eher weniger geeignet, außer man hat sehr, sehr viel Zeit.Für die Erhaltungsladung ist dieser geringe Stromfluss aber wiederum von großem Vorteil, weil die Batterie eben sehr langsam geladen wird, was den Akku noch zusätzlich schont.Ist die Batterie vollständig aufgeladen, setzt ein elektronisch gesteuertes Teilentladen und wieder aufladen ein, was der Batteriekonditionierung und somit der Erhaltung der Batterieleistung zuträgt.Die Verarbeitung macht einen sehr guten Eindruck auf mich, bei der Bedienung gibt es nicht groß etwas zu beachten, außer dass man die Kabel an die richtigen Batteriepole anklemmt.Die mitgelieferten Krokodilklemmen verfügen aber auch über einen farbigen Überzug, der das anschließen erleichtert. Die schwarze Krokodilklemme kommt an den Minuspol der Batterie, die Rote Krokodilklemme kommt an den Pluspol der Batterie. Alternativ kann man auch mittels der ebenfalls mitgelieferten Kabelschuhverbinder eine praktische Dauerlösung schaffen, dazu werden die Kabelschuhe an der Batterie verschraubt, auch hier auf die Polung achten, und über einen Steckkontakt kann man dann das Ladegerät bei Bedarf einfach und unkompliziert anstöpseln.Diese Lösung finde ich persönlich am praktischsten und, daher werde ich die Kabelschuh-Stecker-Verbindung am Motorrad installieren.Alles in allem kann ich sagen, dass mich das Gerät, sowohl von der Verarbeitungsqualität, als auch vom Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis voll überzeugen kann, von daher vergebe ich auch die vollen Fünf Sterne und spreche eine Empfehlung aus.

Das "NEXPEAK NC075 Batterieladegerät ..." kommt in einer kleinen Pappschachtel verpackt an. Im Lieferumfang enthalten sind:- das Ladegerät selbst in Form eines Steckernetzteils- eine Bedienungsanleitung in Deutsch (jedenfalls ähnlich :-) und Englisch- Ein Kabel mit Sicherung, das man fest an die Batterie montieren kann (wenn die Ösen passen), um das Ladegerät dort einzustecken- Ein kleiner, schwarzer Stoffbeutel, um das Gerät über den Sommer zu verpacken.Das Ladegerät ist für verschiedene Bauformen von Blei-Säure Akkus geeignet (Aufladen von 3 bis 18 Ah, Erhaltungsladung bis 36 Ah), also eher für kleinere Akkus, wie die von Motorrädern. Genau dafür wollte ich das Gerät auch. Von Lithium-Akkus steht da übrigens nichts, dafür also *nicht* verwenden!Die Verwendung des Geräts ist problemlos: Man schließt es zunächst an die Batterie an, steckt es in die Steckdose und es lädt. Dann leuchtet zunächst eine gelbe LED, bis die Batterie voll ist, dann leuchtet eine grüne LED. In der Beschreibung ist erklärt, wie das Gerät die Ströme zwischen Laden und Erhaltung umschaltet.Der Ladestrom ist mit 750 mA begrenzt, es dauert also eine ganze Weile, bis eine leere Batterie wieder voll ist (eine typische Motorradbatterie etwa 10 Stunden). Mein Haupt-Verwendungszweck ist aber ohnehin die Erhaltungsladung der Motorradbatterie über Winter, dafür ist das kleine Teil ideal.Es gibt auch noch eine rote LED die anzeigt, wenn man die Batteri verpolt angeschlossen hat (habe ich nicht probiert).Praktisch finde ich ein zusätzliches Kabel mit Sicherung und einem Stecker mit Kappe, das im Lieferumfang enthalten ist. Dieses kann man an die Batterie fest anschrauben und "nach unten" hängen lassen bzw. am Rahmen befestigen. Dann kann man das Ladegerät, das den Gegenstecker im Anschlusskabel hat, wenn man die Klemmen abzieht, auch direkt in den Gegenstecker des Zusatzkabels einstecken. Das spart das Freilegen der Batterie und den Anschluss über die Klemmen.Fazit: Durchdachtes, kleines Gerät, das seinen Zweck erfüllt und in meinem Fall dafür sorgt, dass das Mopped im Frühjahr wieder anspringt. Der Preis von 23 € ist noch im Rahmen.
