Not getting anywhere near 1 gig download speed with ethernet plugged into the extender.Gaming leaves me with 70-100 ping. Almost unplayable.disappointed

When it connects to my wi-fi, the signal keeps going on and off on the devices within reach of the extender. It's worse than having bad signal from the modem, so I had to stop using it.

Like at least one other reviewer (and at least one other complainant on the Netgear site), both of the EAX12s that I bought fail about once or twice an hour. For a few moments, all traffic gets redirected to the local admin website, which results in video calls and streams getting frozen or dropped, and all websites failing. Worse, when the problem fixes itself after a few seconds, any websites I had tried to visit stay broken for a while, I think because my local DNS cache became polluted (if you don't know what that means, consider yourself lucky).I spent over a month with Netgear tech support on this issue, which they eventually proposed to "fix" by sending me a _third_ EAX12, even after acknowledging that this was unlikely to solve the issue given that two existing units, bought a few weeks apart, showed the same problem. I believe this is a firmware bug that Netgear _could_ fix, but it appears that they're not going to.I observed the same problem both in wifi extender and access point (e.g. ethernet hardwired) mode. My router was a Bell Canada Gigabit Hub, and the EAX12s were broadcasting the same SSID, in case that's ever relevant to anyone.I would recommend not purchasing this, unless you're able to test it _heavily_ in the 1mo return period that Amazon provides so you can return it if you have the same problem (I didn't notice it in the first month, which is why I bought a second unit - oops). Keep the packaging.

I have been having trouble hooking up a new laptop to an existing wifi net ... been disconnecting on and off intermittently (documented poor NIC) so I bought this router not only to extend my wifi but segment it for this laptop only ... works like a charm.

Installed this unit in my garage and now my 5Ghz band fully extends onto my driveway. The inclusion of WiFi 6 support is also a nice addition and great way to extend the life of this product if I decide to upgrade my router to the newer standard in the future.
