Great sound for such a small item. Cute too. Great addition to a tiny nook in my kitchen. Highly recommend for those who want just a simple sound system.

easy to use and listen to music while on exercise bike. looking out the basement window can get pretty boring while using dual action bike. the portability is a great help.

This portable cd/am,fm radio is perfect. The size us small so it doesn't take up a lot of space. The antenna pulls in several stations. The sound quality is very good for its size. You can connect headphones or external speakers if you wanted to. I am very happy with this purchase.

It's a nice little radio but some things I'm not happy with.Pros:- looks nice- great sound- easy to use- uses USB, Aux, Bluetooth or CD- USB or CD plays mp3 files even with sub-foldersCons:- doesn't keep/record previous settings when switched off or power loss (it should have been made with some sort of cmos or flash memory to keep previous settings as this is an issue for most seniors that are not at all tech savvy).- signal strength for the radio is weak

A very versatile player that seems to be well built and easy to use controls. You must keep in mind, this is $50 player. Do not expect $100+ sound quality. Considering all the functions this player has, I think you get a reasonably good player. I connected the headphone out port to a Bluetooth speaker to listen to CD's. Much better sound than thru the built in player speakers. For radio listening, the built in speakers are probably OK. There is a Bass button that ever so slightly increases the bass, and I mean very little increase. If you want high quality sound, and all the features this player has, I think your looking at around $200+.

I bought this for my elderly mother so she can listen to her music and have a radio in her retirement home, she loves it, it’s compact and fits anywhere, lightweight only 2.5 lbs, the sound is good and the simplicity to operate was important for her, it also looks good!

This small radio fits any space and delivers impressive sound quality. The only minor drawback is the antenna, which I am concerned about regarding its quality and durability. However, this seems to be a common issue with bombox radios. Overall, it is worth the price, and the reviews are accurate. I might consider purchasing a second one when Prime Day arrives. Conclusion: I am very happy with this purchase. Keep in mind to buy any bombox with a digital tuning button, as it will save a lot of headaches!

Lack thereof choice for sound quality.Built with too much Base. Many of use need a Clear sound equalizer.I bought this for MP3 cds audiobooks. The description said that you can pause, which I understand and then Stop. However, if you turn the boom boxes off, you will lose your place in audiobooks. I haven't opened a new MP3 cd audiobook yet to test it. I prefer the old fashion one cd at a time. My SONY book box is a fabulous quality and I miss the era when we could buy long lasting quality products. The landfill must be full of a mountain of these types of new equipment not built to last. I still have my SONY stereo component set from around 1989. The tape deck finally wore out but the Bose speakers are still the best multiple cd exchanger.THE STOP and return to the same place does not work. The CD returns to the beginning. Online the Pause button keeps your place.I just want to 'hear' books clearly using my headphones late in the wee hours because it's great fun.

I have bought, sampled and returned a lot of portable boomboxes over the last few months for various issues regarding sound quality, workmanship and ease of use. I believe that this current purchase has hit the sweet spot and will fill the bill. I ordered this Nextron boombox late Friday night and it was on doorstep at 4:30 A.M. Thank you Amazon for the fastest delivery ever for am order I placed - way to go!Before I critique each function of this unit, some general observations. The sound quality and volume are surprisingly good for such a small unit. The speakers really do deliver and the bass boost does add a definite extra punch to the sound no matter what function you choose and give more depth and richness to the sound as well. The controls are easy to use and easily accessible, a good thing since this product does not come with a remote. This boombox comes with a telescopic antenna - more on that shortly. The unit is lightweight without batteries but not featherweight - in other words it is sturdily built of hard plastic so I expect it to last on that basis alone. There are two color choices - black or white. I chose the black. Don't generally like white for a music system. Now for the individual functions - I have not yet used the USB so I cannot comment on that.1) Radio. You have both AM and FM. Please use the antenna as the reception in general is good but not flawless. This of course will partly depend on where you live - however in the NYC area where I live the FM reception depends on how I place the unit and where. If in the right spot it is perfect. Otherwise there will be static. The AM reception is not impressive at all but this is less of a bother for me as I only listen to one AM station for traffic and weather. So FM over AM. The AM/FM selector is a switch on the right side, the radio selector proper is on the left side and the station knob is on the top right of the unit. Operating the radio is easier than it sounds.2) CD player. This unit comes with a top loading CD player. To activate this function move the switch on the left of the unit to CD. The LCD screen will flash NO. When this happens gently open the the CD door by pushing the door down on the lower right corner and put the CD in. Be careful with the CD door as the door opens only a short way up not giving much space for the CD to go in. One should get used to this though. Also make sure the door shuts completely as it tends to stay open with too little pressure - just be gentle. I must mention that while the CDs I have used generally play with no issues there is a skipping problem when two or more tracks are too close together. The very end of the first track is clipped off and the next track begins. I have had this issue on all the players I have tried so I will just live with this - I also wish to mention that my CD's are clean and scratch free. This will bother some more than others depending on whether CDs are still a part of your life. One unusual feature with the CD player is that the track number and track timing alternate every few seconds on the screen rather than showing both together at the same time. Have never seen this before but there is a first for everything I suppose including this.Bluetoooth - no complaints here. Synched to my phone effortlessly and the sound is greatOne puzzling aspect of this unit is that the LCD screen is not backlit so it is very hard to read it in dim light. Why this has been overlooked is a mystery - considering the price point of this system having a backlight should have been a no-brainer. I also agree with a reviewer regarding the green sticker on the CD door. Aesthetically odd but I will not remove it for obvious reasons. There is a manual included so just read through it before use and you should be fine. So I recommend this Nextron boombox as a reliable purchase. It is not perfect but the best I have personally come across. Sound is fine with the above reservations re the radio. The volume is sufficiently loud for an average residence. If you want blow the roof off though get a system costing several times more. The Nextron does what it is supposed to do and does it quite well.

Received this yesterday and can confirmed that features are as described. We bought this for my elderly mother so she can listen to her favorite CDs and the one radio channel. We needed something small and very easy to handle, and that does the trick perfectly. Couldn't get any easier than that to operate. The sound is okay but a bit tinny for my liking, even with the base booster activated. To redress as she is hard of hearing, we have plugged in a small computer speaker system complete with a subwoofer through the headphone jack. That works perfectly and proved to be very useful. Radio reception was good and easy to pair on Bluetooth with my phone for streaming music. USB function not applicable for us.Quality is okay for the price as it will be stationary, kept plugged in and not a unit that will be carried around. Does the trick but the intended purpose. We'll see for durability on the long run.
