OTOFIX D1 Max professional auto scanner comes with an advanced ECU coding function. This function allows you to establish a data link to the electronic control system of the test vehicle via the VCI device for vehicle diagnosis, service or coding. You can operate functional tests, retrieve vehicle diagnostic information such as trouble codes, event codes and live data, and perform ECU coding, for various vehicle control systems, such as engine, transmission, ABS and more.

• Refresh the Hidden Functions: Programming or modifying the vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU) to unlock or enable special features or options in the vehicle that would otherwise be hidden by the manufacturer, such as unlocking more driving mode options, personalization settings, additional features for the entertainment system, special lighting effects, etc.
• Recode Replaced Component: There are usually specific matching relationships and coding between the different electronic modules of a vehicle, and when replacing one of the vehicle's electronic modules (e.g., ECU, BCM, TCM, etc.), a number of operations need to be performed to ensure that the new module will work correctly with the rest of the vehicle's components.
• Reprogram Adaptive Data: Reset or recalibrate the adaptive data stored in a vehicle's electronic control modules.There are several reasons why reprogramming adaptive data might be necessary:

Bi-Directional Control & Active Test

During diagnostics, in addition to reading and displaying information about the vehicle, the D1 Max is able to control and operate the vehicle's systems. By sending commands and signals to the vehicle's Electronic Control Unit (ECU) or other systems to simulate certain operations or perform specific functions, it detects whether components are working properly.

• Engine Adjustment: When troubleshooting engine performance issues, you can use bidirectional control to activate specific engine components such as injectors, ignition systems, or exhaust oxygen sensors. This allows you to adjust parameters and observe the engine's response to identify potential issues.
• Brake System Testing: Using bidirectional control, you can activate different brake system components, such as brake actuators, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), or traction control systems, to ensure the proper functioning of the system. This can be done for brake system self-tests during maintenance or repairs.
• Air Conditioning System Calibration: After servicing or replacing air conditioning system components, bidirectional control can be used to recalibrate the system to ensure proper cooling or heating function. You can control fan speed, air outlet temperature, etc., to confirm the correct operation of the system.
• Lights and Electronic System Testing: With bidirectional control, you can activate various lights and electronic systems in the vehicle to ensure their proper functioning. This includes vehicle lights, dashboard indicators, warning sounds, etc.
