The shape of the case is quite a bit slimmer than your generic rectangular case. There is a hard shell with plush (but supportive) foam inside. The foam inside the case is covered in a handsome blue felt. The only negative is that if you play on a C flute (shorter than a B flute), the foot joint can move with enough force (look at last pic). This does not seem to cause any damage or issues, but I am probably going put a little custom-cut piece of foam in the gap. The other two joints do not move. Overall, I really like the case, especially for $67 (price goes up and down).
