Ordered this thinking I could use the book marks as birthday party favors. I should've read the description better, because there are only 6 sticks, but 12 bookmarks. So, rather than there being enough for 12 kids, there was only enough for 6. I ended up using something else instead. The set itself is pretty cool, and my kids enjoyed the stencils with the scratch pas much more than I though they would. I'd recommend it as a present, and maybe for party favors if you only have 5 guests (you'll still need a stick for the 2 booklets).

My three year old daughter was so excited when I pulled this out and showed her the 'magic' of scratch art! She is still too new and uncoordinated to use the stencils properly, but she tried and just loves making the colours appear. The stencils make adding on nicer images very easy and work out better than me trying to freehand it. The rainbow colours underneath the black top shell are vibrant, so they really stand out once the black is scratched away. We made book marks for Grandma's Mother's Day and grandma loved them! The black scrapes off easily with very minimal mess from little black debris balls. It came with a stack of bookmarks (I did not count how many), several different stencils, several wood scratch pencils, and two books of scratch paper. My girl will be able to make lots of scratch art.
