Cheap, lightweight, ships on Prime. If you're sparring longsword or rapier, some of the heavier thrust directly to the throat might be still painful with this. I wouldn't take it to a tournament. For friendly controlled sparring it's perfectly fine in my opinion. But if HEMA is a serious long term hobby for you, consider something stiffer for better protection.

My son has recently started HEMA and after a couple of injuries to soft areas :-/ I bought him this. It's not something he'd want to wear all the time but for his sessions it fits well, is relatively comfortable and protects his neck. It is sturdy and covers his neck and throat areas. I believe he recommends this item if you don't wish to get jabbed in the neck!

The item has total protection of the collar bone, but the material that goes around the neck is stiff and uncomfortable. The day I tried it on I had just shaved under my neck and the material was so irritating to my skin I had to remove it. Lesson being - don’t shave my neck before using this. Other than that, it serves its purpose of protecting the neck and collar bone.

Uso este gorgal para combate con sables de luz, y realmente es muy bueno, se acopla perfecto con mi peto y el plastrón, ofreciendo una protección exelente en esternón y cuello
