It works but don't expect this to see something else than 60. I mean it's pretty useless inside a home, becose its always 60 Hz, never fluctuate once. Anyway, i end up with a nice gadget.

I bought these for use in generator applications, they look nice and are easily mounted in a 1/2" knock out, 22mm or 7/8" round hole. When I tested this indicator on the bench, I was already disappointed when only two of the three digits lit up, of course the utility power is 59.995 to 60.001 depending what time of day. The device is labelled 0-99 Hz but it needs at least 65ac volts to light up. Once installed on a generator, I was expecting to see at least 3 digits ie. 62.5, 59.4 or something other than the two whole numbers. I will set up a test jig to vary the frequency to test the full range of this meter but if it was used to watch the utility, It is pretty much useless. It does however plug the hole in the panel which I had drilled, I should have wired it to a test cord and plugged in first. It is connected 240Vac and provides a pilot light. I gave 3 stars because it does not meet my expectations and as advertised specs. That might explain the price drop from $14 to $5, They did arrive 5 days earlier than posted.
