For my setup, I had to remove and flip the ball around. The nut grips the ball as if the two had been melded together in the heart of a star. It felt like trying to separate two pieces of granite fused by the Earth's core. I suppose this inconvenience, for most, is better than having a ball come apart while hauling a load.I also agree with the other comments that an anti-rattle hitch tightener is 100% required, and the pin is, for the most part, a throwaway item.Overall this purchase was great value for money.

Use it with my Model Y factory installed hitch to pull a small boat. It meets Tesla's requirements for the hitch: max 0.75" rise, 8.5" length.

This product is solid. My Rav 4 towed a 4 x 8 U-Haul across Canada with NO issues. The only think we had to do is turn the ball around as my hitch was lower on my car. No directions stated this so we found out from google.

Good quality and arrived fast. No issues except the safety pin clip does not go through the pin just clamps on the outside. Bought another at the hardware store. Price total still much better than buying sleave at the store.
