Not sure about the other reviews but worked for my car key fob perfectly

This is my second time purchasing this product, and previously it worked fine, and I was able to fully tighten the screws. But after a year my key fell and the shell broke. This is why I'm leaving 2 stars. The screw does not line up, and it is too large for the hole. If you tighten it properly, it will not allow the plastic shell to close together. After normal use for a couple of weeks, it doesn't close properly, all due to the screw. Now, its useless and I can't return this.

Fit and finish is ok. It's a bit flimsier than the stock one, but at a small fraction of the price, I can afford to replace it if need be, So I really can't complain.

fit well. 2 notes - once you put the key into the little holder, you have to slide it into place or else it won't fit properly. the second note is that you really have to press hard around all the edges for it to lock into place...this took me a few mins but once it was all in place it was solid. plastic seems to be good quality and hoping it will last a while.

My old fob came apart. I purchased this after looking at the specs and Info about the product. I was a bit skeptical, yet after switching my key and the old guts of the remote (a platistic box) into this case with the screwdriver provided. It was quick and easy. It's been about month and everything is good + I have a extra if I need it. I'd definitely recommend this product especially at this price point.

2009 Honda CivicPlease read the instructions carefully when installing so you aren't frustrated like me!Don't force the clips in.The T shape small piece with the hole is where the key goes through. The back piece had a tricky process, the key with the small T shape piece slides into the clips in the back piece. The chip with the buttons goes in the front piece with the holes.Only then you can clip them both together, being careful to align the top piece which has a clip that curves inwards.

I really liked this, and gave it 5/5 overall, but only 4/5 on ease of installation. Many of the reviews complain about not being able to close the fob properly / clamp it down. There is a trick. The sleeve that holds the key has a groove on one side, and you can't just lay it down in the fob case; you have to sort of slide it into place and that groove locks it in. It's not documented, and I had to fumble with it for about 20 minutes before I discovered that groove. Other than that, it works great. Easy to install. And it even comes with Honda logo stickers to put on the fob. Nice. Very good purchase.

Initially ordered 2 to repair two broken 2010 Accord fobs. 1 was easy to install and worked perfectly. Other one had misaligned plastic shell and screw wouldn’t fit so we returned it. Ordered a third one to remedy the situation. Had to file down some of the plastic to make it fit which it eventually did. Thus, some of the shells you order might be a perfect fit and other might take some modding to make things work, others may not fit/work at all.

I waited to write this review, the screw does not line up and its too large for the hole as well. Also the plastic mold housing does not clip together and fell apart recently. This is not OEM, or even close to it, and i will contact the seller for a refund!

This key design was very susceptible to cracking near the screw hole, and mine was no exception. I was looking at getting a key fob replaced by the dealer and it would have been upwards of $100 to buy, cut and reprogram the key. I figured the keyless function wasn't worth that much to me, so I tossed the broken key in my drawer. As I was browsing Amazon, I came across this product and couldn't believe the raving reviews and how I could resurrect my key for less than a price of a McDonald's meal these days. It's a very straight forward process and now I'm back to keyless entry! Oh how I miss not turning my key like a plebian.

UPDATE: Just about 4 years later and not one issue. Secure and functional. Good product!I have a 2013 Honda Pilot. My original key fob case broke so the screw holding it together with the key stick couldn’t be used (1st pic). Thus, I used good old duct tape to secure it while I researched my options. The Dealership quoted me $70-$200. $70 being for a new case and $200 for an entirely new key. I found and purchased this Replacement Key Fob Shell and it fits PERFECTLY. The only difference is the shell is textured with a Honda logo on the back where my original one was glossy smooth without a logo. I can’t review its durability yet as I only just got it, but I’m pretty happy with this replacement and the HUGE Price savings!

I recommend be cautious about low rate reviews for this item. I found greatly surprised for the quality and finishing on the cover. Despite doesn't have the chip case or cage, it has the right design to fit it on, I glued the chip (I used small little points of glue here and there I also slightly wrapped the chip with blue tape before glue it, all this extra work just to ensure I'll be able to easly remove the chip if it needed in the future). You need to be a little handy person to swap your remote, chip and blade from your old case to the new one but no hard work is involved... Just patience and imagination to figure out the best way to lock the case. Product is good sturdy and easy to work and looks amazin when you uncover the Honda logo.

I own a 2006 Chevy Impala. I made sure I bought the remote shell that was for that year. It was fairly simply to set up. The whole "innards" from the old remote come right out and fit nicely in the new shell. I read that some people have had trouble with their existing key fitting into the groove at the base of the shell. But if found that the little black casing slip on for the top of the key fits over the key just fine and then you place it, with the key inside it, in the groove, but just make sure that you have it facing the right way. You can compare the way that same black casing is resting in the old shell and match it up the same way in the new one. There is also a slight lip that if you put it in the correct way, it pops into place. Then you can just close the top of the shell and snap it into place. I then screwed the screw in, but I used a small Phillips head that I already had, because it had a better handle for more twisting power than the little screwdriver that comes with it. After I got the screw in most of the way, there was still a little opening left on one side where the key is. I took a hammer and LIGHTLY tapped on the top of the shell and it clicked closed nice and flush. I then tightened the screw in completely and tested the remote and it works perfectly.
