I got the dual rod holders to up grade the Scotty 1099 electric down rigger that comes with a rod holder mounted on the down rigger’s boom. I was leaning out over the back of the boat too far setting out a line, very uncomfortable in rough weather. The dual rod holder set up solved that problem and made it much more comfortable to operate. Was also a lucky choice as I caught 4 nice Black Mouth the first time out with them and got them cheaper on Amazon then the plastic version. They look cool too.
