A little pricey for what it is but I am seriously considering buying a second one. Love that it clamps on the boat and is very easy to move around or remove completely.

Looks sturdy . Will be moving it from a canoe to a boat . Will be great for my needs. If I have to make a trip to the hardware store for bolts, might as well by the holder from the hardware store and support local business.

First, this is a great quality item, and I was surprised at how beefy the bottom clamp is. My problem is that I have ordered and returned (2) of these in a week, as they were both missing the hardware to mount the rod holder assembly (top) to the clamp (bottom). If I purchased this used, I wouldn't mind supplying my own hardware, but this is brand new. Will purchase a 3rd time, hopefully with all the parts.

This review is only going to be useful if you are thinking, as I did, of buy this to use on a canoe. Its just too big, heavy and clunky to be practical for backcountry canoeing and fishing. I gave it a go but in the end it has been relegated to the pile of stuff I never intend to use again. That being said, it is well constructed and works as advertised. It should do the trick on a small power boat.

Quality rod holder.Fits my uglystik tiger with conventional reel almost perfectly.I say almost because the original rod clamp did not fit well in the rod holder.I had to machine off the side tab of the rod clamp.
