The Bearded Lady sez,I would have to take the back plate off to see if it really has a brass/bronze impeller. I didn't disassemble it because then it would need reseal it and that would affect the manufacturer quality. The allen socket port plugs have sealer on them too. The "pump to block" gaskets are just loose in the box, so there is a possibility that they could be damaged in transit. It works for the chevy V8.It looks the part and works right so I approve.

Although this is a review of a free product, I give you my word that my reviews will always be unbiased and truthful. The existing old water pump on my 5.7 Mercruiser 260 started making noise a bit ago. When I heard that tell tale squeaking sound coming from it, I knew it's time was limited. I was reminded of the impending repair when I saw this water pump show up on my Amazon feed. I figured I give it a shot, and it looks like it was a smart decision. The pump arrived quickly, and well packaged. I pulled it from the box and gave it a good looking over. It appears to be well made. The fit and finish is good, and the impeller spins well. The bolt holes look like they will line right up and should it be a quick and easy swap.
