pulled out tape and spring let go inside case. can't repair spring.might as well buy the dollar store tapes. this one is 12 times more money and still broke in a couple years.thought Stanley was a good name and product but not so.piece of junk.

I’ve had this for about 6 months and BARELY used it. It looks brand new - yet the spring return has weakened to the point that I have to fiddle with it to get it to retract all the way. The use it has seen in these 6 months is roughly equivalent to a week of daily use by a contractor.Added to that flaw is the design flaw that the bottom is NOT FLAT! Extend the tape a bit, set it on a table, and it falls over! The bottom is rounded so it can not sit upright!I have a 20 year old Stanley 25’ MaxSteel that is beat to crap but sits upright and retracts like it is brand new. I bought this cause I thought I had lost the MaxSteel. Sure glad I found my old dependable MaxSteel and sorry I wasted my money on this.Do not waste your money on this. It’s a POS!

Had the same issue another fellow reviewer had. The tape measure jammed up and would not retract.Basically garbage
