My dish took a hit by a big hailstone, that left a good sized dent on its face. This cover appears to provide excellent protection. I will update this if we’re ever in another hailstorm. This is a two piece unit - a rigid plastic back piece and the clear front. It also includes a length of weather stripping and screws. Installation takes about five minutes. The back piece has a channel to hold the weather stripping, but it is slightly undersized, so the instructions tell you to glue it in. I believe they mean to use caulk. I used exterior grade clear silicone caulk. I put a bead in the channel and pressed the weather stripping into it and then screwed the top in place. I didn’t remove excess caulk until the top was on.My only concern is the back piece does not fit very well to the back/bottom side of the dish, so there is a gap of roughly 1/8 inch (2-3 mm) where water can easily enter the housing. I don’t think this is a big deal - the dish sat in the elements for almost 2 years. But, I went ahead an applied caulk around that opening just to keep from getting water in there. Though it is mentioned on the product diagram, there was no drain hole on my cover. There doesn’t seem to be any degradation in signal strength or reduction in service. I’m now comfortable with putting this on my roof.I bought this with my own money, and no one paid me for this review or offered any free products or services. I highly recommend this if you need protection for a second generation Starlink dish. This will not work on any other generation of Starlink dishes.

Our first dishy, which was on the roof, was destroyed in a monster hail storm (the roof was lost too). Our replacement dishy has been in our side yard so that we could throw a tote over it when it hails. That has been stressful but successful. Saw this product on a Starlink board last week and decided to take a shot on it. Hoping it will ease the stress of obsessively watching the weather during hail season.A few suggestions for improvement.1. Include a tube of adhesive to glue the weather stripping into the cover. Better yet, just glue the weather stripping on before shipping it out. We had a TERRIBLE time trying three different glues to get it to stay adhered to the material.2. indicate on the instructions which side is up and down. We figured it out by accident after it was installed as there appears to be a weep hole on one end, which we assume is the bottom side. Thankfully, we haven't had any hail since installing it.3. Use pointed end screws instead of flat. We had a TERRIBLE time getting the screws to bite. The number of screws was overkill in our opinion, and our hand strength got a workout getting them to bite into the plastic and getting them all installed. Thankfully we had a regular Allen wrench on hand, the little one sent with the kit will about do you in with the amount of strength needed for installation. Some frustration during installation as detailed above, but if it works it will have been worth it.
