This is the best sleeping bag I’ve bought. I live off grid and use it daily. I have not slept in this yet in cold weather so I can’t comment on -35 degrees, but the quality is great. Very comfortable and has a canvas like exterior so it’s not slippery like others. It’s in the 40’s right now at night. It’s a little to warm of a bag, but I can tell it will be perfect for the cold weather that’s coming. Also it is very big. I feel like you could fit two people in it if you were sleeping on your side. Most my other bags were mummy bags. This feels like a mansion compared to the mummy bag. It is a heavy bag so I would not recommend for hiking. But if you are a hunter or camp in the winter this bag will be great

Some people have complain that they still feel cold sleeping in this sleeping bag but the truth of the matter is that they are probably not as hot blooded as myself. Even myself sleeping outside naked in winter (of course leaving my jeans inside the sleeping bag while I sleep) I feel extremely warm. There is plenty of space if you're not a big/tall man or woman to move around and get comfortable. Another thing is the sleeping bag is a little bulky and on the heavy side but the zipper is pretty sturdy and is very easy to use. The design is reasonable with decent quality and very soft on the inside. Can't complain 5 stars

2nd of these purchased, bought first 2 years ago, 6-8 tent camping trips a year used on. Spring 2023, bought a second for my son as his sleeping bag wasn't up to it any more. Used in all conditions except cold winter (below -10C) and dead heat of summer (over 25C) - very comfortable. My son and I both big guys, over 6 ft and me at 280 lbs, him 220 lbs, fit comfortably in it.

It is very large and it is very soft on the inside, tough on the outside. It doesn't take long for the body to heat up once inside the bag. It is large for those who move around and one won't feel restricted.

I have used this once so far. Temp was only around 3 to 4 C and it was nice and comfy. Seems to be very nice material both inside and out. Was hoping for more of a flannel type material on the inside. Rolls up nice and the attached clips make it easy for storage and travel. My only complaint, and I knew this when I bought it was, there is no storage bag for the bag to go into. I ordered a good canvas storage bag that is big enough to hold this sleeping bag plus a standard pillow. You would think for the price of this bag that they could throw in a storage bag with it.

It is a great sleeping bag! It kept me warm throughout the Canadian winter (actually it was just Toronto and it only went to -17degrees C at coldest night) in snow and rain.It is handwash only but it fits the largest washer at the laundromat so it's like handwashing it lol it was fine after the dryer too but it felt a little colder afterwards.Had to buy a sleeping pad for the concrete floors. The bag is also reuseable and is weather resistant. The sleeping bag itself is water resistant but will get soaked.A sleeping bag liner will definitely maximise cold weather resistance.Only cons are the price (it cost me ~$202CAD) and size (it is almost the size of a 105L duffel carrier).

Bought the -18*C rated bag. Very good quality bag, inside is soft, bag is warm. Research what temperature you will actually use the bag at. I tested this one down to -4*C and was very comfortable. I don’t plan on sleeping in much colder than that, if you do then buy the colder rated Teton sleeping bag. I enjoyed the draw string around the head area, it kept the bag shaped at the top to keep my heat in and my pillow secure. The brown water resistant shell worked well too alongside a cold wet tent wall, it did not absorb any water on the 7 nights I tented outside with this bag.

These sleeping bags are great! I got a left and a right zip for my partner and I. We zipped our air mattresses inside with a fleece liner for a fall camping trip in the Alberta Rockies in Canada. We had rain and snow and the weather got to a low of -2°C. We used a summer tent with a Lil Buddy Heater and only had the heater on for jumping into bed. These sleeping bags were very roomy and comfortable. We were also on a raised cot and I would highly recommend these sleeping bags for anyone looking for a good sleeping bag for cooler Temps. Have yet to test it to its full max of -18°C but it was very toasty with the liner at -2°C.

I have nothing negative to say about this product. It's heavy and bulky but I consider that a small price to pay for staying warm when it's -25 deg C. It is well made with a heavy duty zip and comes with inside and outside pockets, for keys 'n phone. I'm a big guy (6' , 260lb) and this sleeping bag is very generous. I like the fastening straps that keep it rolled up. I also like the storage bag that has a very long zip that covers the whole length and down one side making it really easy to use. This is an excellent sleeping bag. I've used mine for about 10 nights when sleeping outside in a Canadian winter and I'm very happy with my purchase.

My family and I go camping about four times a year and I freeze my butt off if the temperature drops below about 45 F. In the past I have tried several different bags promising to keep you warm at 20 F or 0 F only to find I am still shivering at 40 deg F. And when my sleep is miserable then so is my trip. Decided to give this Teton Sports DeerHunter model a try because I like rectangular bags (especially the rare ones that have drawstring curved hoods) and this bag has a survival rating of -35 F. The bag is also not crazy expensive like many expedition rated mummy bags that advertise terrific warmth at very low temperatures but weigh only five pounds and cost $300 plus.Amazon delivered the DeerHunter to me a week later and I unfolded it from the supplied carrying bag. My first impression was that it was thick. Very thick. And it weighs about 16 pounds (7.3 Kg), so definitely more of a bag for car camping or longer term hunting trips than for the expedition style camper. The bag also has heavy duty zippers and inner and outer pockets to hold cell phones, wallets, etc.. A great mummy style hood with drawstrings that can be pulled up tight around the head. This bag is hand wash only (and Teton recommends watching the video on their website first if you plan to hand wash it) which at first seems like a deal killer but the reason is that any washing machine will compress the synthetic insulation too much, causing the bag to lose a bit of its heat retaining characteristics. The same is true of storing the bag too tightly compressed for many months.Crazy as it may sound, upon receiving the DeerHunter, I took it to my friend's cousin who owns a meat packing shop with large walk in style freezers. I asked him if I could try the bag in the freezer overnight. He said something in Italian about me being crazy but made sure the door could be opened from the inside and set up the temperature control to begin at 0 F and then move slowly down to -20 F over the next five hours. (we could not set the temperature to -35 F which is the survival rating of this bag - the freezer only went to -20 F) I made sure I had adequate oxygen in the room and then set up my cot at 11 PM and went to sleep. (When I camp, I use a cot about 8 inches off the ground, a closed cell foam sleeping pad and then my bag on top of that) At 0 F, this bag worked excellent and I was still warm enough with my long underwear, blue jeans, flannel shirt and jacket on. By the time the temp got down to -20 F, I felt pretty chilled (not enough to be truly miserable but enough to affect sleeping). I slipped on my two extra layers of fleece I had in the bag beside my body and went back to sleep. It was not great sleep, but I did get back to sleep (the air was so cold that I did notice it at my throat but I still went back to sleep). I don't know how well this bag would work on frozen soil without a cot or sleeping pad, but for my style of camping, I was pretty impressed that it allowed sleep at -20 F.In short, this bag probably does live up to its claims which is that if you are warmly dressed in multiple layers, you can survive the night at around -30 to -40 deg F. It is well built and includes a nice carrying bag with handles. For the $135 I paid for it, excellent bag and highly recommend. Five stars.
