I haven't had the chance to really catch a big fish on this rod but it is truly a beautiful rod & I own at least 30 rods & reels so I wouldn't hesitate to refer this to a friend!!

Ordered 3 of them one just broke today on the first use. The other two seem fine but the one that broke was for sure a defect. It broke right under the top eye metal.

The 7031 isnt all roller guides like the picture shows, only bottom and top guides are rollers but its a pretty awesome 7ft 30lb class rod, amazing quality for the price

I use mine for surf fishing a round Galveston. I mounted a Penn Warfare on mine with 100lb braided line. This is definitely my favorite set up so far. I will purchase another one a mount a larger Penn reel on it later this summer.
