I purchased this kit to help break in my son's new Rawlings mitt. It help immensely with the process. The plastic toggles they threw in are helpful to keep laces in place, if that is an issue. I personally haven't used them and will be giving them to my son's teammate, bit it's a cool extra. The ball is a small foam ball, and in my opinion, worthless as far as helping the pocket hold its shape. I prefer an actual baseball to do the trick. However, I didn't buy the set for the "extras," thus, 5 stars.

This was not what I was expecting... this comes in a plastic bag and the ball is a soft sponge really the only thing that can be used is the wood for reminder .... buyer beware....

Mallet is decent, wraps wrap and clips clip (though they are a bit cheap). The ball however… why include this? It’s just a small stress ball. It adds absolutely no practical advantage to breaking in a glove. It’s for show - maybe to remind you the kit is for breaking in a glove meant to catch a baseball? 🤷🏻♂️The mallet is the real tool in this kit and why I purchased it. Performs as advertised.

I was concerned about this, but neither the mallet head nor the included ball (for wrapping and forming a pocket) are the same circumference of an actual baseball. The mallethead it just smaller, which is maybe common, but the included ball is a soft foam, and it is much smaller, smaller even than a tennis ball, and is in no way capable of doing the task it is supposed to do. Leather is hard to break in, and this ball is basically trash included to justify a higher selling price. Buy another listing without a ball for less money.

TBH after reading the reviews my expectations were higher. Also with the price of the product being $30, the packaging was cheap to non existent as many pieces came loose. The mallet is small and light. I didn't get a whiffle ball for shaping, I got a small and very soft foam ball. Not alot here for me. I might return it.

Decent value, but the yellow ball is completely useless. Not even close to advertised size and is soft squishy foam, not plastic. Not useful for shaping at all.

I’m a youth baseball coach and also play in an adult baseball league, and I have a side hustle helping people break their gloves in. I’ve used this set on about 7 gloves so far and it gets the job done every time. The quality compared to the price definitely exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!!!!

This kit taught a old dog a few new tricks, first of all as someone who has been restoring old gloves for the last 40 years, the baseball pounding mallet to form the pocket of the glove and help to break it in ,is by itself fantastic, but the leather strap mini clamps to keep important leather knots on the thumb straps or the perimeter leather knots is truly a game changer, never have to worry about those knots opening up in the middle of a game ,well worth the money 💰
