It can control the output power of local oscillator in microwave superheterodyne receiver, so as to obtain the best noise coefficient and frequency conversion loss and achieve the best reception effect. It can also be used as a decoupling element between the oscillator and the load. At present, it is widely used in mobile communication, aviation, radar, scientific research, radio and other fields.

Performs fine, very heavy.. (good for shielding, and like, will hold up 10 feet of RG68 lol) was damaged in shipping because of the weight, I am replacing through Amazon and ordering another two.

quite the stout chunk of metal, they're not kidding about it weighing 400 grams (almost a pound). don't think you can just screw it on to another piece of rf gear - you'll break something. I'll be a lot less likely to misplace this brick than my collection of small, coaxial, attenuators. The sma connectors fit well with my other cables and adapters. one of the buttons (the last 20dB stage) was a little bit stiff but cycling it a few times smoothed it out some. I'm not sure what their endurance is long term.Initial testing between 250 and 500MHz indicated more or less the right amount of attenuation at each step, within 1 or 2dB. I didn't have the time to test every combination or measure the full spectrum but as a quick way to turn the volume knob down to -11 (thank you, Spinal Tap) this does about what I expect. Will update this review after some more rigorous testing.

The TOJOIN RF Coaxial Attenuator is like the volume knob you never knew you needed for your RF setup. Whether you’re trying to dial things back a notch or just need to fine-tune your signal, this little guy gets the job done. With options ranging from 3dB to 20dB, it's got the versatility of a Swiss Army knife but with way more geek cred. The SMA male-to-female connectors make it a breeze to hook up, and it handles up to 2W with no sweat. It’s like giving your RF setup a chill pill—calm, controlled, and totally reliable. If you’re serious about your signals, this attenuator is a must-have in your toolkit.

I purchased the TOJOIN SMA Male to Female Attenuator, and while it ultimately wasn't the solution for my particular setup, I have to say that the product itself worked as expected. The attenuator feels well-built, and when I tested it, it performed without any issues. The DC to 8GHz range and the 50Ohm specification matched what I needed, but my specific configuration just didn't require it in the end.If you have a setup that requires an RF attenuator like this, it will likely work great for you. Just make sure it's exactly what you need for your configuration before purchasing.
