I had been planning to replace the pickups in my 25 year old left-handed Fender American Standard Stratocaster for years as I wanted to go for more of a vintage sound. After reading many many reviews I decided to give these Toneriders a try even though they were less than half the cost of most other pickups I was considering buying. My Strat was really good to start with however, these Toneriders have taken the guitar to a whole new level. With my amp set clean, the tones from all 5 switch positions are top class. With a good bit of overdrive kicked in, the sounds are even more impressive. It would seem a bit of contradiction but the sounds are warm, fat, bright and clear all at the same time with no harshness. I cannot imagine it could get any better than this. Les micros pour guitare stratocaster gaucher sont très durs à trouver. Tonerider en proposant, je me suis lancé et à mon grand étonnement, ces micros sont d'excellente qualités, que ce soit au niveau fabrication, du prix et au niveau son : vintage strat à souhait ! Je ne regrette vraiment pas cet achat !Point négatif : aucun.Expédition du produit très rapide le tout pour un sans faute.5 étoiles sans hésitation !

There are relatively few options for left handers when it comes to retro-fit Strat pickups with staggered pole pieces (and let's face it, staggered pickups make up the bulk of the market!). Fortunately, Tonerider do us lefties proud with this set. I have fitted these to a Japanese 62 reissue, which was a wonderful guitar even with its slightly lacklustre stock ceramic pickups.Now the Toneriders are fitted, my Strat can realise its full potential. The neck pickup is warm, rich and woody sounding. The middle pickup is clear, articulate and endlessly versatile (already my favourite position on the Strat this is tone heaven for me now), while the bridge pickup finally delivers a Strat bridge tone that I like and want to use a lot. This bridge unit delivers a lot of bite (without any trebly harshness) and can really drive an amp, but if I dig in and play close to the bridge it can also get very close to yielding up a tele-type twang.As for the 'in-between' tones, these are pure heaven. I was never really a fan of these sounds before, but it turns out I'd only ever been hearing them through inferior pickups. Now I'm a confirmed fan of the out of phase tones!While these pickups will make you fall in love with the clean and 'just breaking up' tones, they also deal superbly well with all kinds of overdrive and distortion.I know what Tonerider are getting at by calling these 'Pure Vintage', but don't get the wrong idea: these are almost endlessly versatile pickups. The company blurb goes on about Knopfler, Clapton etc yet there are all sorts of other classic Strat tones served up by these pickups: Rory Gallagher, Hank, John Frusiante, Vini Reilly, Richard Thompson etc.The fact of the matter is, however, tat comparisions like that will only get you so far. The best thing I can say about these pickups is that they are so well designed that they will bring out the best in your Strat. They'll also bring out the best in you, helping you to sound more like youself and getting you to that Strat sound you've always had in your head.
