Needed to have a dimmer switch as well as sunrise/sunset control, and this does both. Getting the sunrise/sunset portion to work correctly was a bit of a challenge. Here are the steps to set it up that I got from Treatlife:For On1. Please open your Treatlife app2. It should go to the home screen3. At the bottom you will see the "smart" button, click4. Click the plus sign at the upper right corner (it will go to the create scene screen)5. "Select When the weather changes”>> Sunset Sunrise6. Set the desired time for the device action (trigger), (Sunset)7. Then press the plus sign button on the far-right side of "Then"8. Under "Add task" select "Run device"9. Select the desired device >> Select function >> Switch "ON"10. Select On or Off (or Reverse Switch) >> Click Save11. It will go back, click next >> Save >> You will see a prompt "Automation created. I bought a string of Edison lights for patio and they were extremely bright, lit up the whole place like a football field! I attached this dimmer and now it's perfect. Can be low light or bright and everything in between. Easy to use. I recommend!

My wife ordered a string of edison lights for our backyard. The Treatlife DP10 smart plug was recommended for outdoor light automation so we ordered it. I plugged the device into a wall outlet and used my phone to download the app from the QR code and was able to setup the device within a few minutes. Once it was tethered to my home router I plugged it into the outdoor cord. Worked great the first night and then we had a storm that caused my home power to "flicker". This appears to have caused the DP10 to reset and lose the configuration as the light on the device was red instead of white. The remedy was simple, I went through the configuration again with my smartphone and then plugged it back in. No issues since. I have not experienced issues with rain water getting in and shorting the unit as some have suggested. I was able to integrate this plug with Alexa fairly easily. I saved the device as a light in place of a plug in Alexa. This then let me use some canned routines "Sunset lights" to turn lights on 5 minutes before sunset and a turn-off lights routine for late at night. So far no issues with Alexa integration. This is a solid smart plug for the price. Don't just take my word for it check out the Possum looking at the edison lights in the third picture :-)

I bought 3 devices from this company, dimmer plugs and dimmer switch.Initially out of the box they connected to the treatlife app.there was no way to connect them SmartThings or Google home, as described. Completely impossible. Furthermore after I tried to connect to Google home, the pairing with treatlife dropped and at that point it became impossible to reconnect and re-pair the devices to the native app.I tried to get help from treat life but all I'm getting is the runaround. it has been 2 months now since I purchased these products and all I have is frustration. and I'm getting extremely annoyed.I've tried the online help in the chat help and calling directly the helpline. they are unable to fix my problem, and get these so-called smart devices to work. this is completely unacceptable.Total exasperation. I must have spent over 20 hours in the last 2 months trying to get these things to work. Tried getting support on the online chat, then a zillion emails, and tried phone support, all I'm getting are packaged responses that has been tried numerous times.I'm so sorry I bought these devices. Now I can't even use this dimmer switch manually they will not dim rhe lights correctly, unless they are paired with the app.An exercise of futility.I'm hoping, but not optimistic I can get a full refund for these devices that do not work with the native qpp, nor do they with SmartThings or Google, home as advertised.Stay away if you don't want to pull your entire head if hair.

I bought this outdoor dimmer to replace another one that met an untimely end. This one mounted to my porch column easily, although it only has one screw for mounting. The one feature that I like about this dimmer over my previous one is that as well as it having WiFi capability, I can manually dim the lights by holdig down the rubberized on/off button. So press and hold to increase the brightness, then another press and hold to decrease the brightness. The lights will not turn off completely by dimming them. This is convenient because I don't always have my phone with me, and these are usually only compatible with a 2.4GHz WiFi network anyway. The plug cover is a nice feature so I can unplug the lights from it and put the cover over the plug so it is not exposed to rain/snow.Overall I'm happy with it so far.

We returned a Meross outdoor double plug as it would not connect to our Wi-Fi.Decided to buy this dimmer for our backyard lights that run 200' around our backyard and it works great!Easy to set up and has lots of cool features built into the App like setting a weekly schedule and a timer to automatically shut off after a certain amount of time in case you forget. We even had a power failure and the unit picked up the signal automatically and was connected to my cell phone App within minutes. Great value and quality for the money and works with Google Home.

Overall, for the price paid, functionality, build quality, and ease-of-use, I give this product a good recommendation, and would suggest others to try it. However, I deducted a star on the installation for the following reasons:1) It would have been nice to choose a plug option that sticks straight out or turned 90 degrees or angled in some way, as the full downward orientation of this plug will either block the other plug port in most outlets (as shown in my photo), or as in most weather protected outdoor outlets such as mine shown in the photos, it will bump into the housing and not fit within the housing if attempting to plug into the bottom plug. Also, because of the orientation of the plug combined with the thickness of the wire used, I cannot easily route the wire out the bottom of the weather housing of my outdoor outlet, which forces me to cut a hole in the side and seal it after if I am to keep this switch outdoors permanently. I am hesitant to penalize Treatlife for this design decision, as I can foresee many other scenarios where this plug/cable arrangement would work perfectly. It unfortunately does not work as well for me, but it is not the end of the world. It still functions, just not as clean of a setup as I would like.2) The Treatlife application took quite a bit of time to figure out how to connect it to my Google Home. The instructions may have been outdated, as many of the areas the instructions point to, were either renamed, relocated, or removed entirely from the Google Home android app, so it did take a bit of fiddling for me to figure out how to connect it. In the end, I was able to get everything connected, and I am now able to control the switch with either the Treatlife Android app, or with my Google Home App.Overall, I am satisfied with this switch and do recommend it for others, as long as the plug and cable arrangement is fully compatible for their application.

This works exactly as expected. Easy to set up start and stop times. Has a gradual ramp-up and ramp-down where you can control the brightness at start and set the amount of time until it reaches the full set point. For instance, I have my lights turning on at the set time and ramping up to 33% intensity over the period of half an hour. Note, I could not get this to work using wifi bandsteering on Rogers Ignite (where your wifi automatically determines to connect to a device via 5ghz or 2.4ghz). However, it was easy enough to set the wifi to create a an additional 2.4ghz network to connect and control the dimmer by visiting my service provider website for instructions. I would purchase again.

So good that I ordered a second for another set of lights, and may order a third! For those of you wondering, this does have a physical switch / dimmer you can use without your phone. There's a single button that you tap to turn the lights on and off, or hold down to dim/brighten (it starts going one direction until it maxes out then goes the other direction).Wifi setup was very simple, and, while I haven't looked into the fancier settings yet, the basic controls on the app more than meet my needs of manual on/off and a brightness slider. I've made use of the timer feature as well to make sure we don't forget to turn the lights off after a night of partying. The construction seems solid and pretty rugged. I expect it will last a long time, even outside. I also like that it provides a slot to hook onto a screw or nail for easy wall mounting. My one suggested update is to have a longer power cord. Unless you have an outlet within about a foot of where you want this switch to be, you'll need an extension. In my particular scenario, we had to run an extension along the side of the house. That extension goes to a triple outlet staked into the ground because I need at least 2 switches at this location and want to keep the connections off the ground to avoid potential issues with puddles. However, if I connect this switch directly to that staked outlet it will only be about 1.5 feet off the ground, which is pretty inconvenient for using the physical button. This means that I need to either live with that; buy and install another 3-6 ft outdoor extension, causing a setup of extension -> landscape outlet -> extension -> switch -> extension -> lights; mount the switch and leave the outlet hanging (ghetto and probably not 100% weather safe); or, hopefully, find a different cheap outdoor splitter that can be mounted to the wall right beneath the switch. I feel like the power cord should be 3-4 ft, which is long enough to go from the floor, where most extension cords reside, to a normal & convenient height to use the button.
