This is really nice! It’s small, comes well-packaged, and even includes a carrying case. The color looks great, and the overall quality is solid. It was a bit tricky for me to play—though that’s more of a human error—but it’s super fun, especially for kids.

This is just so much more fun than I was even expecting it to be. It arrived in a nice box, with a printed drawstring bag to hold it, the stick, and a small booklet that included directions for tuning it as well as five short songs you can try to play. I am a big fan of having something to keep all the parts together. For example, if I take the stopper out of the bottom to use outside in the rain, I can stash it in the bag. Otherwise, oh that would be lost immediately. And the drum itself is so pretty! Such a soothing color.The tongues are numbered 1-6 (except no 4), and what looks like "i", but is actually a 1 in the next octave up. This is numbered musical notation. I was completely unfamiliar with that notation system, so I was going a little crazy trying to figure out why there was an i. The 4 is often excluded on a small rain drum in order to keep the sound "melodic" and harmonious. So yay, learning!Meanwhile, I'm just having a wonderful time randomly hitting notes and making my own sounds. It's very relaxing. Haven't even put it out in the rain yet. Might have to get another one, so I don't have to give up my little guy, because I'm having way too much fun with it.

First the pros. It comes in a very nice box so if it is a gift, it will present very well. Inside the box, the drum is stored inside a colorful drawstring bag and includes the mallet. All very well done. I really liked the color of the drum also. The sound was better than I was expecting. I love the sounds of a rain drum and this is very fun to play with and can be relaxing.Now, the cons. This is extremely small. I expected it to be small but this fits in the palm of my hand and I do not have large hands. In the photos, I have included a 16.9 ounce water bottle for comparison.Considering the pros and the cons, I would still recommend this. Even though it is small, the quality is very good. I would think that if it were larger for the same price the quality would not be near as good. If it were the same quality and larger, it would have to cost more.I actually am very pleased with this and happy to have purchased it. If I needed some small gifts for those who love music, this would be an excellent choice.
