I bought this specifically to help me shop for a used Nissan Leaf. The scanner connected easily and fast to my LeafSpy Pro, and gave me all the information I was looking for. With that, I was able to find a really clean 2015 Leaf with 10 bars/75% battery health and I made the purchase with confidence thanks to that combo. So far, the car is everything I had hoped for. Not a barnburner like the most recent EVs but it's reasonably zippy when it has to be, and I'm dropping the kids off and making my commute without using any gas. Free charger at work sweetens the deal. Whether you're looking for a Leaf like me, or just troubleshooting your, this purchase is really a no-brainer.

Works as it should. Is compatible with Alfaobd and pc with windows. Only negative I have is it needs to be known in a review is it may take a long time for the setting to be saved and take affect. However it does work

Pros:- It's a great tool for diagnosing car issues and clearing error codes, using the companion app. The app supports basically all car models as far as I can tell.- It's a lot smaller and more compact than a model with a full built-in console. Using the app instead isn't really any less convenient, so overall I think that's a win. You can basically keep it in your glove box and use it whenever needed.- The bluetooth connection and app features seem to work smoothly and reliably.Cons:- The app tries to get you to upgrade to a "pro" version, although it isn't necessary for most functionality.Current title: V-gate vLinker MC+ OBDII Bluetooth Adapter Car Wireless OBD2 Scanner All Systems Diagnostic Scan Tool and Code Reader Clear Faults Hacker-Proof for iOS, Android &WindownsMy rating system: 5 stars = performs as expected, 4 stars = small flaws, 3 stars = major flaws, 2 stars = barely usable, 1 star = trash

I do a lot of my car repairs, and I use a wired Volkswagen-specific analyzer. I thought this app would be an excellent complement, but it didn't fully meet my expectations.I've wasted too much time trying out different apps. Eventually, I chose an app that was commonly recommended in the reviews. I tried the free version of Car Scanner, but I wasn't impressed enough to pay for the permanent licence.Setting up the adapter was fairly easy, although the instructions were lacking. I've had a couple of recent error codes, but the app was unable to pick them up. I'm not sure if this is due to the adapter or the app itself. It does connect, and I believe it would work perfectly with the right app. Even better would be if they developed their own app.I've spent enough time trying to find an app, so I've decided to put this away for now. I might come back to it later and try a bunch more apps, but it didn't meet my needs easily, which is what I would expect.

After trying the vLinker OBD2 scanner, I feel pretty satisfied with its performance. Setting it up was a breeze, and I loved that it connects wirelessly to my phone—no more tangled cords! It worked seamlessly with my Ford providing accurate readings and diagnostics. I appreciate that I can leave it plugged in without worrying about draining the battery, which is a huge plus for me. However, I did encounter a couple of downsides. The lack of an included app means I had to spend some time searching for a reliable one. While there are many options, some come with extra costs for premium features, which can add up if you're not careful. The user manual could also use some improvement; it was a bit vague about app compatibility and setup. Overall, it’s a solid tool for anyone looking to diagnose vehicle issues without breaking the bank. If you're a DIY mechanic or just want to keep tabs on your car's health, this scanner is definitely worth considering. Just be prepared to invest a little extra in a good app to get the most out of it.I hope you find this review helpful in making an informed decision. Your feedback is always welcome.Cheers,Straight Shooter

My vehicle has a particular issue with it's 12v battery which can abnormally be drained without seemingly anything left on or attached. So I was really looking forward to testing out the vLinker and using it to check my battery levels. I was also interested in it's ability to time out and not drain the battery if you leave it plugged in. So far so good. I've left it plugged in for a week and it has not caused extra phantom drain on the 12v battery at all.The app I use with it is the paid version of Car Scanner on iPhone. Set-up was easy and after a few seconds with the car on, clicking on live data opens up many (and I mean MANY) screens of live data. I'm particularly interested in battery data and I get a lot of great live data from the app. Communication to the OBD reader seems to be instant, and I've had no issues with disconnections or drop-outs. As mentioned, leaving the vLinker plugged in for a week straight, did not have any adverse effects on the 12v battery levels. While I don't intend to leave the vLinker installed permanently, it's reassuring to know that if I leave it plugged in, it won't cause trouble.Overall it's a great OBD reader which is capable of gathering all kinds of data. Of course the app you use with it will determine what data you end up with. Works perfectly with Car Scanner. iPhone integration is excellent and connection is simple. (I can't comment on Android use but iPhone and Car Scanner is as simple as selecting the Bluetooth connection in Car Scanner.) Definitely worthy of consideration.

This car diagnostic scanner is of good quality and works great for self-diagnosis for DIY or before bringing it in to the mechanic to have a specific part replaced. It comes with helpful directions that provide some of the more popular recommended apps, but deciding on the best option can be time-consuming and also add further costs to the package, especially if you are looking to get a highly user-friendly version with all the bells and whistles for more detailed readings and reporting. (Most require in-app purchases.) The scanner itself is very easy to connect to the vehicle port and to your phone or laptop once you have made a selection for the software you will be using. (Connecting to the OBD port is quick and easy, and the BT connectivity is straightforward, same process as any other Bluetooth device.)Overall, it is a good value and versatile with it's software support, and I really like that I can connect it to my Windows PC. Doing an odd reading when there is an issue may not be worth it for some people. But for someone who plans to use this often to maintain their own vehicles or on more than one vehicle, software purchase options are great to stay current and the manufacturer also provides firmware updates.

This uses 3rd party apps and I couldn't find an app that I liked or not had to pay for the app subscription.
