We have gone through a few pumps and they always trip the breaker or need a little shake. This one has been pumping off steady rain for a couple of months and we haven't once had to go fix it. Best we have had out of trying 4 in two years.

I purchased this pump as a replacement for the previous model that failed about 2 days outside of its three year warranty period (called customer service who told me that I was out of luck for a repair). For some reason, I thought I would buy the same model (newer design) as a replacement... don't do it.18 months in (basically one summer of use, so about 3 months of actual use - bought in October 21 after the summer, failed in June 23), the pump has a short. It's been raining almost every day, and I need a pool cover pump. I contacted customer service on a Friday morning, and got a recording that they were "in training" and to call another day (!!).So, I sent an email with all the info. Later in the morning, I called back and miraculously managed to talk to someone who told me the process was to send the pump in for analysis in their "lab" (2 days) followed by a decision on their part on repair or replace (or, I assume, blame the customer for the failure). Factoring in shipping, etc., we're looking at 2 weeks min without a pump. To add insult to injury, I was told that I would receive a return label later in the day (why not immediately, I cannot tell you). Lo and behold no label showed up, and I am now waiting for customer service to reopen to call them up again, as I head out for a week, with no label, no possibility to return the pump, and no option to do so while I am gone, thus adding to the overall time to get this resolved under warranty.Bottom line, unreliable, friendly but not very effective customer service, slow service... look to another brand.

Over the years, probably had four or five different pool pumps, and this is easily the best one I ever had. Totally reliable, really pumps very well, even with leaves and debris in the pool. It doesn’t clog. highly recommend it.

I bought this to replace an older model of the Wayne pool cover pump. So far it works great. Much more sturdy than the older model, and an ordinary garden hose connects directly.

These two Wayne pool cover pumps were ordered to replace two pumps I returned to AMAZON in late February. The returned pumps were made by a different manufacturer & did NOT work OUT OF THE BOX in automatic water level sensing mode as described on Amazon & in their instructions (they failed to operate with level sensing during ongoing rains). These two Wayne pumps worked in automatic level sensing mode out of the box (I received them & tested them on 3/1/2023). I needed RELIABLE pool cover pumps to replace old units that died during the rainstorms. These Wayne pumps were more expensive than the ones I returned. But more than the low price I needed pumps that would work out of the box with no problems. These pumps do the job!

I purchased this pump after trying one of the less expensive brands which lasted about 2 weeks. Using this to pump the water from my very large winter pool cover. With this pump I can move it around with ease as it has a handle as well as a guide string for pulling across the pool. It has pumped hundreds of gallons for me and it automatically comes on and turns off. The pumping pressure is very good, I use a regular garden hose and it blows it out of there with more pressure than my water spout. Can't go wrong, good purchase.
