Was thinking they would be coated but they are not. With that being said they are soft light weight but very durable and every comfortable in your hands

Nice reins, feel good and look good BUT THEY CATCH on the Velcro constantly on my hornbags and catch debris from the trees and stuff... I do not recommend them

My partner loves these reins. He usually rides with leather split reins, but this is a great go to for a change of pace. The feel of the rope is so very soft, yet they have a nice weight to them. I am going to try them myself, as I too ride with leather split reins. I hope to love them like he does, and purchase another pair.

These reins are exactly what I was looking for to use when trail riding. The leather end is perfect for popping when your horse gets stubborn or distracted. They're soft on the hands, yet durable, and easy to hold. I also dig the color, because it hides dirt stains pretty well. Very happy with this purchase!
