Your cart is empty. Ideal for 11-foot ceilings, this Westinghouse 1/2-Inch ID by 24-Inch Extension Down Rod helps maximize your ceiling fan's cooling benefits by providing the proper height. It features a brushed nickel finish for a sleek complement to your existing ceiling fan. Tapered threaded ends ensure a deeper connection and stronger bond for maximum durability.
The extension down rod measures 24 inches long by 1/2 inches ID, and can be used with Westinghouse or other ceiling fans that require a 1/2-inch ID ceiling fan extension down rod.
For optimum performance and safety, ceiling fan blades should be at least 7 feet from the floor but no higher than 8 to 9 feet in order to best cool a room. For ceilings 9 feet and higher, an extension down rod is required to bring the ceiling fan down to the proper height above the floor. Product reference number 77492.

This downrod was exactly what I needed. I use some sandpaper to rough up the surface and spray-painted at bronze to match my new ceiling fan

I was a little confused because these are threaded both ends and the 12" down rods that came on my westinghouse fans, are not. But just ignore the threads, they work fine. They are directional and with no instructions, I didn't notice at first that one end has a tiny threaded hole for the "ball" side.I was installing in a steel building / garage, such that the center fan in the row would be higher than the others, due to the roof slope.These brought them closer to the same height.

Had ordered a Westinghouse industrial fan for a very high ceiling. This is stainless and very sturdy. Initially electrician and I were not pleased with large stickers on the rod.... I realized it had been very tightly wrapped in plastic (red face)
