Most cymbals on the market today have Turkish or European influence. However, WUHAN has defined the Oriental sound for centuries. To better understand their popularity, let's look at Wuhan's history and some of the products they offer. For over 1900 years Wuhan has made cast, hand-hammered cymbals in China. In fact, the Chinese have been credited with inventing the cymbal for use as a musical instrument. Wuhan is well known for their china and gong cymbals. However many people don't realize that they also produce a line of "western" style cymbals. In fact, Universal Percussion, Inc. who owns Wuhan contributed to the creation of an excellent line of professional quality cymbals that include a traditional, rock, and bright series. Each model is offered at prices below competing cymbals and are covered by Wuhan's one year breakage guarantee (which will replace any cymbal within a year of purchase- no questions asked). Wuhan's china cymbals range in size from 12" to 27". They offer rivets in the 16", 18", 20", & 22" sizes. They are describes as dark, explosive and trashy with distinct tonalities.

Shipping took a few weeks but was worth the wait. $137 for an 18 inch authentic China cymbal was a great deal. Love the sound and sustain. With a stick or a soft mallet, the sounds you get are like none other. Great product!

I was very hesitant about purchasing this cymbal online as it is almost always better to go and try them in person. Wuhan cymbals are all known to sound a bit different as they are quite literally handmade. As with many of their China cymbals, this one took a few sessions to fully break in. After about 2-3 hours of playing I really started to hear that classic trashy China sound that many drummers crave. It is unfortunate that it did not arrive in time for my recording but that was due to my own error. Regardless, even with the 1-Day shipping it was cheaper than any local alternative; a China cymbal from any other brand is incredibly expensive and also does not sound nearly as good. The only downside to these cymbals is that they do not last more than a year or two, especially if you play often. The sound you get out of them continues to rock until the cymbal is quite thoroughly destroyed though, and sometimes it even sounds better as it falls apart (at least to me). Very curious to see how this one lasts and will definitely be buying my next Wuhan through Amazon. The only concerning thing was how poorly it was packaged and protected, but hey cymbals are literally designed to be hit so it's fine.

Best sounding china ive used for metal music. The only downside is how quickly they break... good thing they're so cheap!

A china cymbal adds dynamics and color to your playing - great for accents and amazing when combined with double-bass fills. Great sound and loud AF! Will cut through EVERYTHING. You don't have to hit it very hard. Seems to be well made, although there is some smudging from the logo and a few little dings here and there, which should be expected from a hand-made product...but I didn't buy it for looks!

Great price and sounds great. Cymbal is very durable. It would be very hard to break this one.

The cymbal I received has a strange kink in it at the edge of the bell, the sound is ok (can't compare it to another of the same cymbal), but if I had the choice I would return it.. wuhan have a lot of variation of sound for the same model cymbal... but the cost of returning the cymbal is almost the same as I paid for it... I just hope it doesn't develop a crack where the kink is located (edge of the bell) because it'll become instantly unusable...

This cymbal is loud quick and trashy. Well worth the money. A truly good deal as compared to other places.
