It has a big coarse thread on the cover. I've had ones with a fine thread and sooner or later it gets cross threaded, usually jams and I have to throw the thing away because the threads usually ruined.

I used this on my boat to fill an old speaker hole. The speaker was finished and I didn’t want to replace it so I threw the speaker out and install this cover plate. Now I have a small storage place instead of wasted space.

Seems like a quality product. I'm redoing the upholstery in our boat and could not get to the fasteners on one cushion without removing a wall in the head. I cut a hole and installed this access port to allow me access to the area.
