Great for getting your hands way from where you want the line. Best to lift straight away so as not to smear the paint. Takes a little practice

I love this tool because it is long and the edge goes under many surfaces. Even ones at aren't exactly straight. Not too heavy but not flimsy either.

We've used this for painting, craft & other projects. It's an excellent product & Amazon had it at a very good price. It helps eliminate the need for taping areas when painting which saves both time & money. Very glad we got it; would absolutely buy it again & do highly recommend it.

Carpet comes up on base board around 1/4 inch:At 22 inches, it is a fair size, though, I would prefer a 6 foot version.This paint shield absolutely can get the carpet out of the way as you go down and under. You can slide it across and it will part the carpet...save for corners.There is no leaked paint providing you go light on bottom edge.All this is indeed great.2 problems though. At 22 inches you can't get in long brush strokes without risking transversing past shield.With our white paint over contrasting colour, second coat is needed. But you can't put shield back without marking up fresh paint as the edge is sharp. So I ended up free wheeling to get finished coat. Time is slowed. A 6 foot version would help.So, I'm pretty sure I am just going to tape up carpet for the rest.Also, the metal edge to plastic handle is not watertight. So don't put shield in water where it then takes ange to get water out from in-between blade and plastic.So, it is an ok device for this one case I have used it for. It might shine in other uses I have not thought of (or well if just one coat was needed even ):)
