I have bought a few heaters for my turtle tank none of them have worked. This heater has been the best. My turtle tank is always warm if the water level falls it automatically turns off.. its great

After 4 of these 150w heaters failing in 3 to 4 months, I am searching for a better replacement. It claims to be good for 50 gallons, but keeping 40 gallons of water is burning them out in 90 - 120 days. I only bought the fourth one (it lasted the longest at 4 months) because I could not find another brand with better reviews. Don't throw your money away like I repeatedly did and find another brand.

The suction cups released, and it floated to the top of tank and melted. Should have a shut off.

We purchased this for our 3 year old razorback musk turtle. Easy to use. All you do is plug it in and it heats the water to the perfect temperature. I highly recommend this product.

I just use it a month and it was broken now. I don't believe this brand of products will be bad quality and i don't the reason it will damage as i didn't fall down on anywhere. I found this problem when i change the water. It is so lucky my turtle didn't get hurt for that

Turtles are notorious for destroying everything in their tanks, and my red eared slider is no exception. Seriously, she attacks everything that enters her tank, and it’s been a problem with heaters especially. I used to buy the heat stick that just stays suctioned cupped onto the wall with hooks, but my turtle would constantly knock it out of their holder and eventually it just broke. We have a sand substrate in our tank and the old heater didn’t get enough airflow when it got knocked out and eventually just cracked and stopped working. When I saw the external thermometer on the tank dropping to 68~ degrees I bought this one as a replacement ASAP.Thankfully, Amazon’s excellent shipping got me the replacement super quick. Not only that, but the heater has been set up for over two weeks now still has not gotten knocked off the wall. Our turtle is always laying against it too and sleeping on it for the warmth so I know she’s physically interacting with it, so it’s reassuring that it’s still hung up. It does slide around a little bit though, but as long as it doesn’t come unstuck easily I’m happy with it.In terms of functionality, it worked perfectly and got the temperature up to 78-79 degrees within a few hours. I confirmed this with our heat gun and also the external thermometer we have on the side of our tank. From what I can tell, the digital thermometer that is built into the heater is accurate. The only downside with this product is that you can’t adjust the temperature at all. It just has one setting. I keep my tank at 80 anyway so it wasn’t a problem, but the flexibility of being able to make it warmer/colder would’ve been appreciated. Other than that, I highly recommend this product.

So far I do not like the suction cups, one would not work as it kept inverting, making it unable to stick at all. Eventually I found that if I only used very little pressure to attach it then it wouldn't invert. But I know my turtles will eventually mess with it and end up getting it to invert again. The real issue is the thermometer, it sucks. It is about 2 or 3 degrees too high, and doesn't register accurately at all. When I check my water temp with my hand held laser thermometer I get very accurate reading, which fluctuate overnight by dropping and then my regular, adjustable heater, (which cost half as much) kicks on and off until the water warms back up to 78°, give or take a degree, but no more than that. This heater just fluctuates between 79 and 80, even though the water is actually at 76°. I am wondering just how cold the water has to get before it actually kicks on! I think this problem would be solved if the heaters thermometer was adjustable. Basically, I would not recommend this heater, there are plenty of tube style heaters with digital LED temperature readouts which are ADJUSTABLE, and also have plastic guards over them. The adjustable thermostat can make slight temperature discrepancies a non-issue since you can just set it to compensate for bad readouts.
