Either the tolerance was too large on this tool - or it was not hardened properly. Installed the die set into my press. Punching 18 ga stainless steel (1.25mm). First time through, the punch left a very ragged edge on one side of the hole (the other side was properly sheared). Steel was "stretched" not sheared ... though in this case it did finally shear. The rough edge hung approx 1/8" before shearing off. The second time through, one side sheared and the other side "bent". Removed the tool and measured it. Punch was 21.9mm x 6.9mm. Die was 22.8mm x 8.2mm. One side of the die appears to be relatively factory fresh. The other side appears scarred and worn. Though I am not sure how it is possible, unless it wasn't hardened completely, it appears that after punching only twice, the side of the die had worn off. Again, VERY disappointing.Note that I also purchased a 6.5mm round die set. I punched about 5 holes using this die through the exact same metal and did not have a problem. There was a bit of an edge on the finished hole, but it did punch (not bend) There did not appear to be any wear on that tool after 5 holes.
