I need to insert 4in 10in long object to the ground with tight fit and repeat this 1000x. This auger is advertised as 4in diameter, on the box it says 100mm (=3.93in) and real diameter is 95mm (=3.74in). I dug one hole hoping wiggling will make the hole wider. It does, but only on the top but not at the bottom, so I can insert my object half way. With real 4" auger, this job of making 1000x 4" holes would take 1 day, with this 3.75" auger it will take 3 days because I need to use small garden spade to enlarge the hole :(

It is easy to use product, but if you have had soil it won't work as it needs more power to drill into.for loose soils it is perfect.

I love this auger. It is so easy to use and effective for amateur or advanced outdoor plantings. No more bulky shovels and back breaking work. This little auger attached to my drill is awesome! Get down where the work is at and auger your hole to desired size and plant. Great for planting new beds with multiple plants.

I used the auger to dig about 30 holes over a few hours in our dry, hard soil. It worked perfectly, taking a few seconds to make a hole about 4 inches deep and 3 inches wide. I was concerned that my drill, at only 12 volts, might not be able to handle the auger, but there was no problem at all.

I had my doubts, but for $8 I decided to give it a try. Used it in rocky red clay soil with both electric and cordless drill. 35 8-10” deep holes in less than an hour.

This is a great product and worked very well for what I needed to do, however just a warning; this worked with a drill and the area I needed to use this in had rocks and tree roots. If this gets caught, the blade stops spinning but your drill does not, and you can seriously injure your wrist.Don’t get me wrong that has nothing to do with the product itself or the quality, but more an issue with the drill you use.Most drills have strength settings, use this on a low speed and you should be fine!I found out the hard way! Lol
