About this item

  • Digital LED Display - The sensor closed path, microcomputer zero crossing triggering controls warm, the LED numerical code demonstrated that the elevation of temperature is rapid, temperature precise stable.
  • Heats Up Fast - Temp (MAX): 450℃/842°F, (Temperature Range: 100 ℃/212 to 450 ℃/842°F). It adopts a long-life ceramic heater and uses microcomputer control so it can be heated up quickly and accurately, can up to the set temperature within 5-10 seconds.
  • Auto Sleep Function - When the handle replaces on the bracket, the heat gun would enter stand-by mode to stop heating. And when you pick it up again, it will return to working mode, more safe and convenient.
  • Adjustable Temperature & Airflow - Easily adjusted temperature with the up and down buttons while the LED screen shows the current temperature for your convenience. 8 speed of adjustable airflow and 3 air nozzles direct a concentrated heat flow to the work surface of small chips to large chips.
  • Widely Application - Designed for soldering or de-soldering SOIC,QFP,CHIP, PLCC, BGA, and other temperature sensitive components, an essential tool for cell phone repair, laptop repair, or circuit boards soldering.

I got this to do some early SMD soldering work and it does the job adequately. Auto turn-off works as well as the temperature control (I have not calibrated it though). I usually run a bit higher than expected but that is also because I typically use this in front of an extractor fan.Do the safety checks though - make sure you test for ground and that the fuse is on the correct pin, other than that it does the job!

The Vevitts 858D Digital Hot Air Rework Station has proven to be an excellent tool for my soldering needs, especially for SMD rework and building prototypes. Its precision and control have significantly eased the process of working with delicate components. One of the standout features is the temperature control, which is both accurate and easy to adjust. This is crucial for SMD work, where the right temperature is key to avoiding damage to components. The heat gun heats up quickly, reducing wait times and increasing efficiency. The build quality of the 858D is solid, giving it a professional feel, and the digital display adds a modern touch while making it easy to monitor and adjust settings. The ergonomics of the heat gun are also worth mentioning – it's comfortable to hold and use for extended periods, which is great for longer projects. In terms of value, this rework station is a great investment. It provides the functionality and reliability of more expensive models at a more accessible price point, making it ideal for hobbyists and professionals alike.Overall, I highly recommend the Vevitts 858D for anyone engaged in electronic repairs, soldering, and prototype development. It's a versatile, user-friendly tool that delivers excellent results.

WHY didn't I get one of these a long time ago. Makes desoldering things with multiple prongs or surface mount things so much easier. I did read some reviews complaining that the handle fell apart, so I'm a bit paranoid about that, but I suspect it is people who are allowing too much heat to build up, and that by being careful it will hopefully last. For the price, I think it's worth the risk. Personally I'm using it at 375C with the fan on full and the larger tip if I can get away with it, and I'm monitoring it to make sure the plastic pieces aren't getting too hot. So far so good.

I recently purchased the Vevitts 8586 110V Soldering Station, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance and versatility. This 2-in-1 station combines a hot air rework gun and a soldering iron, making it a convenient and efficient tool for a wide range of soldering and rework tasks. The soldering iron heats up quickly and maintains a consistent temperature throughout use. The adjustable temperature range of 100-500 °C allows for precise temperature control, ensuring optimal soldering results for various components and materials. The iron itself feels solid and comfortable to hold, allowing for precise and controlled movements. The hot air gun is equally impressive. It generates a steady and powerful stream of hot air, which is essential for removing and replacing surface mount components, shrink tubing, or even drying electronic components. The temperature adjustment feature enables me to select the perfect heat level for each specific application, ensuring safety and preventing damage. The build quality of the station is excellent. It feels sturdy and well-constructed, giving me confidence in its durability. The station also features clear and intuitive controls, making it easy to adjust temperature settings and switch between the soldering iron and hot air gun.The included accessories are a nice addition. The package contains a variety of soldering tips, nozzles, and other useful tools that come in handy for different soldering and rework projects. The station also features a built-in holder for the soldering iron and a stand for the hot air gun, ensuring safe and convenient storage during use and after work.Overall, the Vevitts 8586 110V Soldering Station is an outstanding tool for both hobbyists and professionals. Its excellent temperature control, dual functionality, durable build, and included accessories make it a reliable and versatile soldering and rework solution. If you're in need of a high-quality soldering station, I highly recommend considering this model.

The first day I tuned it on on the whole front end turned white hot and caused the plastic to melt and to collapse with the heating element touching the outer metal. Worse was that even though I turned the front switch off it continued white hot. I think it stopped burning when the element burned out. I suspect two things: firstly that the heating element shorted against the metal outside and secondly that the metal outside is live and the switch is on the neutral (speculation on my part since why would it keep burning when switched off at the station?).To be clear I did not open it up to check the wiring but did check with my DVM that the earth lead does not ground the case or the metal outside. This has taught me three things:1) Use Amazon that accepts my return so very happy with that -they did here2) Don't buy the cheapet particuarly items like this where it may not fail safe with hot elements - not the place to cut corners3) and really, really, really grateful that my house did not burn down

Firstly, it emits a very low volume but annoying 60hz tone. Also, the auto-off feature worksonly 30% of the time. Also, the hot air station cannot be disconnected from the base in the event in would need to be replaced. However, for the price, it does the job well.
