Maybe this is good for small odd jobs where you can move at a snail's pace, but for this tape measure to get an accurate reading (even says so in the manual), you need to go SO SO SO SO SO SO SO slow, which makes this thing so useless. Plus the tape it has is so cheap, would not bother, bends too easily, Great idea and much cheaper than the competitors, but there is a reason the competitor is more expensive, because it actually works well on a job site. The laser feature is nice, but other tools for much less will also do that. The BT feature relies on Tuya, so be ready to have your data sent to a server overseas.

I travel a lot for work and cover a large region with a wide variety of buildings and find myself often having to take measurements in awkward spaces. When I saw this tape measure I wondered if it could help make that task a bit easier so I ordered it to try out.I have to say that it definitely does make a big difference and taking measurements is so much easier overall. The measuring tape is fairly plug and play. Once it’s out of the box you charge it, make a few adjustments and then start using it.The digital display has a simple and easy to follow layout. It’s backlit for low light conditions and the measurements are quick to read at a glance. I was concerned it would be a pain to take multiple measurements of an area and read them off the display but it’s very easy and intuitive. It’s one of my favorite features with this measuring tape. The tape itself is decent and as is typical of measuring tapes will begin to bend after a certain length requiring a second person or a landmark to place it on. It’s not as easy to read as some others but I still have my manual measuring tape in my kit if I need it. It is really neat pulling the tape out and seeing the measurement pop up on the screen. So far the measurements have been accurate and I really like that you can store them for quick reference in the app.The tape also has some other neat features like calculating the area of a space and the laser is very clear and precise. In all honesty this measuring tape is just so handy and saves me a lot of time on the job. There are a few small areas for improvement:- the build isn’t the sturdiest and with a digital screen I would have loved a hard shell carrying case to protect it from my other tools in my kit- the hook at the end of the tape is typical of most measuring tapes and could be longer to avoid having it slip off since it bends easily without using itOther than that this is a great measuring tape and I am very glad I have it. It really is worth the investment and saves a lot of time; I would definitely recommend it.

The screen orientation doesn’t work for lefties and can’t be changed. The app unit for inches is not fraction like 10 1/2” but 10.5 inch which makes it useless unless your are OK using the metric system. It does work OK on the tape display however… Good idea but the next generation will be better I hope.

First Impressions & Use:The tape measure comes with a USB-C charging cable and a user guide. Since the batteries are built-in and rechargeable, no need to look for batteries. It has hard rubberized coating on the upper part of the tape measure to protect it from impact when dropped, but there is no coating for the underside/edge, which is strange as that’s probably what will hit the floor. The whole device should have been coating or at least all the corners. Not sure how well this will take an impact on the work site or at home. The back has a plastic belt clip that is only 1.25” deep. The plastic is not very flexible and/or deep enough for a regular belt so durability may be an issue. The tape hook has been double riveted for added strength. The tape body itself is approx. 18mm/0.7” wide and can measure up to 16ft. The tape can hold its own weight up to approx. 68” before it will bend.It has large control buttons on the side with a fairly large backlit LCD display on the top to provide you all the measurements, but the tape measure can be used without the screen. The front has the laser lens and the back is the power button/charging port via a sliding cover. When powered on, the backlit display shows a bunch of information including the battery charge and measurement units selected.Pulling out the tape and it quickly shows the measurement on the screen. I checked the accuracy and found that from the tape hook to the mouth of the tape measure it matched up well. When measuring in metric, it only shows measurements in meters up to 3 decimal points, so no centimeter readings. I know it’s easy to convert, but I’d like a quick display of CM for smaller projects.Enabling the laser and you can quickly get a laser distance measurement, either a static one-time reading, or you can enable the continuous reading, so it continuously updates the measurement while you or the object is moving.A very handy feature is the ability to have the laser perform calculations for area, volume & two Pythagorean modes. The laser can measure up to 131ft, so this does make measuring large areas easier. The tape measure can also be paired up with the Smart Life app allowing you to view the measurements on your phone. To set it up you will need to provide access to GPS/Location Tracking as well as Bluetooth. You don’t 100% need to sign up for an account to use the app as you can go into Guest Mode, but full features/functions will be limited without an account. The one added feature of the app is that you can use the laser in conjunction so map out your floorplan. You draw a wall, select it and use the laser to measure that wall and it will update the measurements on the drawing automatically. The floorplan can then be saved and exported if required so you know exactly how big a room is and how much material you need.Pros:- Rechargeable- Large & bright LCD display- Laser measurements with area/volume/Pythagorean calculation modes- Laser can measure distance up to 131ft- Can pair with an app and perform floorplan drawings and auto populate with the laser measurementsCons:- Belt clip is plastic and may not be durable- Protective rubberized coating doesn’t protect the bottom or bottom edges from impact- App requires location & BT access to work with the app- App also doesn’t 100% require an account to be setup, but you’re limited on functionality- No centimeter measurement unit, only metersFinal Impression:Overall, the Acegmet 3-in-1 Digital Laser Tape Measure worked well. Easy reading of the measurements are displayed on the large backlit screen. It can be used with or without the display in the event your battery dies, but since it’s rechargeable, you should be back up and running in no time. It can also be paired with an app to view your current & past measurements as well as assist you with building a floorplan. My major issues would only be with the durability of the tape measure. I’m not sure if it will do well with drops at the workplace as the bottom is not protected with a rubberized coating.

It's very accurate. Love the dual functionality and the history on device and in app. However, the button to "lock in" in the measurement is in an awkward place and requres a lot of force. Sometimes pressing it moves the tape, causing an inaccurate reading.
