Cut the cost in half buying through Amazon's Used option. Inside a generic brown box, it was carefully and safely packaged for shipping. It arrived in two days! The board works flawless with all of the features that I was looking for and expected at half of the price if buying it new. There are a lot of people that ship items back without ever even using them, and I highly recommend this option and this motherboard. If someone were to choose to buy this at it's current new price, this model is still a great choice. I'm just not sure for the full price that I personally would have went this route, because other models with the same options are available. It is a fantastic board, looks great with it's sleek all black military tough vibes going on. It has a very subtle RGB lighting effect on the top right corner. The setup is very simple and easy, but I've been putting computer builds together for over 25 years. Also my Lian Li Dynamic XL RGB case I've installed this board into is quite massive and would make almost any build super easy to assemble. So the ease of assembly really depends on not just skill but the case it is being installed in as well. This is a full sized board, and not a small mATX. My experience with the bios of this board and all of the features are as expected. I've definitely favored Asus for years now. This board has had no issues with my 13600k processor, or my two sticks of DDR5 6000 memory. I've easily enabled the xmp memory profile, and overclocking features to test and they all work as they should with my 13600k P-Cores hit an astonishing 5.7Ghz. After the test I've set the board back to it's default settings. Then adjusted the thermal limit and CPU voltage, setting limits, as well as making other various adjustments to ensure a very long lifespan. It is not required, but my preference. I very highly recommend this board, and am really glad that I chose to buy it used in good condition through Amazon. While I can definitely understand that this decision on such an important component for a computer seems like a very high risk, for me it was definitely worth it, costing me only half when comparing the price of new. Overall I'm left with no regrets and big savings on a high quality, top shelf, stellar product.

I’ve only just received the board and have done some light testing but it is a huge step up from my ancient system. I had to borrow a processor but it seems to run fine.I was having some difficulties with 7000mhz ram, but the ram may be defective as I was fine using another stick at 6400 and was unable to enter the bios to downclock the faster ram. I will probably use my older ram for a while and grab some faster ram on sale down the road. Black Friday isn’t far off so I’ll probably grab it then along with a 13th 14th gen processor. The ram issues could have been due to the outdated cpu I borrowed to test the motherboard.Looks awesome.

I'm super happy with the board and the PC that I built around it. This was my first PC build in roughly 10 years and a lot has changed.Setting up everything was simple and everything works as it should. All components run at the proper speed once setup. The only thing that I can't comment on is the audio, as I use an IO for mixing and recording anyway.

Excellent motherboard at an affordable cost. Couldn't connect to 1 Gbps ethernet, tried everything. It ended up being my cat6 cable that it didn't like, although all my other computers work fine on it. It was trying to connect with 2.5 Gbps but my switch doesn't support. I swapped to a Cat5e cable and it works at 1 Gbps. This is a problem of the intel i225v imho. Otherwise, great performance, no audio issues as was reported with more expensive models (Max Hero had crackling/popping with Realtek 4082). Extremely happy with the TUF Z790-Plus WiFi. Thank you to Amazon for quick delivery of item and support.

No Ethernet or WIFI. Failed to boot until I removed my GPU for the 3rd time and after the removal of the battery. Once booted it could not install the drivers that were downloaded in anticipation of no internet at startup. MB displayed a constant DRAM error LED and after trying every possible configuration of the brand new Corsair Vengeance DDR5 it would not clear up. Swapped out my 980 PRO SSD with Windows 10 for an older 750 EVO with Windows 10, still wouldn't boot. Took out my RTX 2070S again to remove battery and booted up in safe-mode, got the Intel LAN drivers for Windows 10 - 64 bit unzipped and tried to install but got error message that it "Does not support WNT_10.0P_64". The unit then froze and crashed.Ended up putting back in my old hardware as this MB won't work. Asus wanted me to pay for another MB and would credit my account when they receive their defective hardware or send in the defective unit and they would attempt to repair and return. I was without my computer for 4 days and it would be another 10-14 days playing that waiting game. This Z790 MB, the i5-13600kf and the 2 sticks of DDR5 were all purchased at the end of October or early November for our Christmas present and Amazon will not accept a return. Until I get a new working MB I can not even validate the functionality or reliability of the RAM or CPU.Lets hope they work or I'm really hooped!P.s. The ASUS TUF Gaming Certificate of Reliability and the 17 rigid reliability tests aren't worth the paper their printed on.Merry Christmas,Tim

I installed this about 3 weeks ago and it was pretty smooth sailing. There are lots of plastic film covers on various parts to keep it from scratching during install/shipping. Remember to peel them off as you are installing. It has some LED lights that can be turned on or off in the BIOS. Speaking of BIOS, Asus motherboards always have nice, clear and easy to use BIOS software. This one is no different. One feature that I likes (but also hated) was that the screws in the M.2 SSD heatsinks were attached to the heatsink. It makes it easier for those with bigger hands to get the screw in place. In the other hand, it also made it difficult to line the screw up with the hole. I feel like there could be a happy medium there.Finding the Windows drivers was pretty simple, but on first boot, you are prompted to install the Asus Armoury Crate software. It let's you control/view the fan speeds, LED lights, see the temperatures, install latest drivers and more. It's actually a really slick idea, but the software itself is awful. It takes up a lot of memory and it crashes all the time. I suggest installing it to get the fastest drivers, then uninstall it right away. NOTE: You will need to use Asus' Armoury Crate Uninstaller tool available on their website to completely rid yourself of it.So far, I haven't had any issues with the motherboard itself. Hopefully it stays that way for a long time.

Great motherboard all around. One thing though... The Amazon website lies. I reported it, still there. The board's max memory speed is not 4600mhz. That would be under the industry's minimal value for DDR5. The specs read as 7200mhz overclocked. Not sure what that means, but people told me not to go under 6000mhz.Great value.Bit of an append. The memory chips are somewhat close to the CPU. Installing a decent CPU fan for a good CPU might be problematic. The fan doesn't have enough room so all i could do is put the fan as low as it goes. The case barely closes as it's sticking out a bit.

If you are a general DIYER, this motherboard is a good choice. The CPU power supply can support the power consumption of i9-14900K, and the number of 12v fan interfaces and 5v RGB interfaces can provide general installation requirements. The motherboard does not have the ability to update the BIOS without a CPU. If you install a 14th generation CPU, you need to pay attention to whether the motherboard has been updated with the latest BIOS.
